ok so im thinking of having my ff ring engraved...last second of course. theres not enough time to send it back to union to have it done so i called around. Jared, Shane, Helzberg, zales can all do it its 45.00 for 12 letters and 75 cents for each extra letter and i wont get it back in time

Or I could have fastfix jewelery do it takes about an hour and its 35.00 for 10 letters 75 cents for each additional letter. I talked to a friend who said he had some stuff engraved there and it  was fine he waited which is what i would do.

I saw this in another thread here but i think its an awesome idea

I would like to Get one of the following engraved:

June 26, 2006 (the date im asking the question)

Sept 22, 2002 (date when i asked her out exclusivly)

ARD & TMP our initials

Forever

With all my heart

It's really more traditional to have the wedding bands engraved. That's what I'd do. Ours have both our initials (XXX to XXX) and the wedding date.

If you want to do it-- go for it. But um... that would make resetting or updating a bit hard. Is she the sentimental type?

i vote for the engagement date, or 'with all my heart'
or maybe a combo 'with all my heart 06.26.2006'

i'm curious how the engraving will look, post photos of it if you can! and how wide is the band? our ring only had a 2mm shank, but i was able to fit the phrase 'une dezir' on it =)
other ones i had considered:
the date =)
pour tous jours = 'for all days/forever'
semper amemus = 'our love is forever'
mon cuer aves = 'you have my heart'
yours onli
you know you love me

congrats!

that would be really cool to have both but the ring is a size 5.5 so im not sure that will all fit. Then again on her class ring her first, middle initial and last name are engraved. which is 18 characters

With all my heart 06.27.26 which is 22 so it may very well fit. This would be on the inside of the band so it wouldnt be obvious.

I really like the idea "with all my heart xx.xx.xx"

i hope you don't mind if i do the same on the ring i am purchasing.  Although, we are going on a 5 day vacation, and i haven't decided on what day i will propose, so that could be a problem.

If you do want to engrave the e-ring, I would suggest the phrases "with all my heart" or "forever", etc., because you'll want the wedding date engraved in the w-bands. Trust me, after you are married a few years, you celebrate the wedding date, and other dates like the first date, the engagement date, etc. go by the wayside. They are no longer important because the wedding date is more important than all the others.

If you go with the engagement date, make sure you are able to propose that day!! Sometimes these things get delayed for various reasons. Also, make sure that can fit in the ring. I know with my e-ring there was not enough room to really engrave anything and with the wedding band there was only room for a short engraving (15 characters, I think) and since we are both Italian we had "My Beloved" which is "Il mio caro" which I just love. It is perfect!

Good Luck! And, hey, if you dont have time to do the e-ring just to the w-band I am sure she will love it either way!

i hope what you want fits =)
remember too that some space will probably be taken up by the plat or 14kt stamp, and possibly some space taken up by a manufacturer stamp.

i wanted to have our wedding band engraved too, but unfortunately it's an eternity band and full of holes! oh well..

I dont mind becuase i got the orginal idea from some one else on here...I thought wow thats kinda cool but they just had the date when they first started dating. I was going to do with all my heart but I thought of it after i got the ring.

The idea is on one side... put with all my heart then on the other side the date im asking. The reason for this is the 14k stamp is close to the middle but not too close so ill put the date on that side and with all my heart on the other...hopefully. which leaves space in the middle for it to be sized. :)

Me asking is going through no matter what. I already got 500.00 tied up in the proposal alone. ITs happening. Period I went through too much stress and a forest fire litterly to do this. I aint backing down now.
