Our wedding video is done!    Our videographer has posted our highlights video online.  No worries, it's not the full length one!

 http://joesimonproductions.com/vasquez.htm

There's an awful close-up of me and the makeup i was so unhappy in, but oh well!

He also posted a bunch of clips of us in his gallery at:

http://joesimonproductions.com

Go to gallery, and more samples for the rest of them.  We're his cake cutting, first dance, exit, and most of the super 8 mm film.  And our ceremony is his front page picture/graphic!  Our 15 seconds of fame i guess...lol!

And for everone who has been on my case about dress closeups, the video has some pretty good shots I think.  The prof pics aren't ready yet, so I promise to get those when they're ready!

I can't wait to get our full-length vid...should be coming inthe mail this week!!!!

p.s.  i hope i'm not doing anything against the rules here.  if i am please feel free to delete this post and i apologize!

I'd actually sit through the full-length one, having seen how well done the montage clip was! You and everything about your wedding were just stunning! Congrats!

You looked so happy! Both of you... and the red dress with the lace over it for the first ceremony was so lovely-- and your other gown!!! Looked like it was made to be worn by you! everything was amazing-- from that gorgeous red rose in your hair... to the brown BM gowns and the brown scrolling on the cake.

Being a PSer... your earings caught my eye-- they looked stunning. CONGRATS!

gingerBcookie,

I loved your video clip! you guys are such a cute couple.

I'm also from Houston and was wondering who you used for your vendors? Is there a link where you've already posted them?

I know that Joe Simon is based out of Austin-- did you have to pay a travel fee? How do his prices compare to Minds Eye or Horizon Films do you know?

Thanks!
DL

thanks for watching!  i'm just so excited about it i feel like sharing with everyone...i'm sure i'm causing a feel eye-rolls out ther -- but who cares?  i'm HAPPY!  anyway, to answer some of the comments

nope, no dance lessons...hubby is a great dancer and we dance together so much (cuz we love it) that it's very easy for me to follow him/him to lead me.

i don't have my vendors listed anywhere, but if you're nterestd DL, page me and i'll let ya know who i used.

video was a total afterthought for me too, but he did my friends wedding in austin and i fell in love with his work.  i have always hated wedding vids (can't handle the high amounts of cheese and gush) so planned on not having one.  after i saw my friends vid, i readjusted my budget to add him in.  i decided it would either be joe, or no vid at all.  alos, many times your vid will catch stuff your photgrapher missed (i.e. my friend's photog mised their first kiss, but the vidoegrapher caught it!)

yep, my videographer travels. he's based in austin and my wedding was in houston.  the travel fee was teeny tiny (seriously, almost negligible in the grand scheme).  i love my videographer.  sooo easy to work with, reasonable with adjusting packages, very to the point and does not bog you own with tons of issues.  the only thing he asks for is a list of 7-10 songs you like for the video with a nice mix of fast vs slower tempo songs and you are done!  and he's fast too!  i have  frien who used mind's eye and she still does not have her video...it's been over a year since her wedding.

pricewise -- he's pricey for austin, but more average for houston (since everything wedding-wise is more exxpensive here)  i don't remeber what the costs are for mind's eye and horzon, but i think it was comparable or less.  ebven with the travel fee.

it might be crappy for me to ask but, do you mind sharing which package you ended up with? there are so many options...
i contacted him about traveling to louisiana. hopefully he can!! cross fingers!
i don't find his prices at all bad- especially for the quality and his style, which i love (i know i said that already)!

Your highlight video is beautiful! I absolutely love that Frank Sinatra song, "The Way You Look Tonight" and was thinking about using it as a part of our playlist in our wedding. I think a great photographer and videographer is a must! We were looking into another videographer recommended by our friend who is also in Austin (we are in Houston, if you don't remember). The company name is called Crescent Video, and they don't charge for a traveling expenses from Austin to Houston. But we may even consider looking into Joe Simon after seeing your video. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to see your professional photos!

Oh and Jcrow already asked this question, but would you mind sharing which package you ended up getting?

i went back to look at the packages, and not surprisingly (as with all vendors) his prices have bumped up.  i got the platinum package, but traded items (needed more hours for the multiple ceremonies), and subtracted items to bring the price down to fit my budget.  he's really great about working with you to customize the package to fit your needs.

i had joe himself, and i highly recommend him!

Oh wow, I love your videos!  What a classy and glamourous wedding!  This may be a silly question, but what dance were you doing for your first dance?  Was it a waltz (clearly I don't know anything about dancing!)?  It looked fun!

Oh my goodness, you have such a gorgeous figure!  Do you have a special eating/exercise routine I should know about, or are you naturally that lovely?   I enjoyed watching your footage, thanks for posting.

thak you kaylyn!  the slippers were from some bridal shop...very inexpensive ?$25?  The didn't lace up the way i liked though, so I bought some ivory ribbon, slipped it underneath my feet between my feet and the slipper, and just laed them that way.  The ribbon isn't even attached to the shoe!!!  lol!  thay were sooooooo comfy, it was great!  i think i saw them all over the web too, try zappo's and shoebuy.com.

lol...does it look choreographed?  people kept asking us if we took dance lessons and had it choreographed, but we didn't.  we didn't even practice!   we danced to an old r&b-ish soul song -- Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" and we just danced!  Hubby and I love to dance and he has great rhythm and is a strong lead...and i just follow!  I don't think it was any kind of specific dance, we were just moving to the music the way we felt it I guess!  And it WAS fun!  So much fun!  We briefly entertained the idea of taking lessons and doing something more formal, but decided to go with something more relaxed and US, yknow?   Glad it looks nice!

hehe...my eating habits would disgust any health fanatic...and exercise...LOL, my hubby despiars over getting me to do anything healthy!  i'm one of those thin people who's prob pretty unhealthy and am lucky thus far regarding my figure...we'll see what happens if i keep this up and get older.   Honetly though, I don't have a nice figure, I'm thin...but flat as an ironing board, frone AND back with NO waist to speak of!  My dress just added bulk were it was needed i guess!  LOL!!!

gingerBcookie,

Your video montage is truly amazing... he did really nice work.  I don't know what you mean about your makeup... you look absolutely stunning and you that ballerina-type body (long, lean and graceful) I would just kill for!!  You look perfect!  What a beautiful couple you two are.

I didn't want video at my recent wedding since I'm not very photogenic, but my brother-in-law ended up taking video of the entire ceremony and cocktail hour.  After seeing yours, I'm glad we have the video... it'll be nice to sit down together in the years to come and reminisce about our day.

Anyway, really great video and congratulations!!
