Hello! I am all new to this, but I had a question regarding a new engagement setting. I have an existing center diamond that is about 1.4 carats, round cut, I color, and VS2 clarity. I am looking to put this center diamond in a new setting with a platinum band and side round diamonds and baguettes. My question is would it be worth it to go with a VS2 clarity in the side diamonds and baguettes as well, or can I get away with an SI1-SI2 clarity? Also, if everything else is equal (side diamonds have same color and same carat weight), what kind of price jump would it be from, say, a SI2 to SI1 to VS2? Does this make sense? Any help would be appreciated, let me know if you need me to explain myself a little better. Thanks!

As far as Baguettes are concerned..., VS2 has to made sure its eyeclean, other-wise VS1 at least.... Regards to you question of price..., yes the jumps are usualy significant from SI to VS, (but it really depends on size and quality) ********************** |

I think you would be okay with SI clarity on the round sidestones, but I agree with DiaGem that I would want VS on the baguettes because in my opinion they really show inclusions easily.

And I would just go with all VS because you are talking about little stones anyway. We aren't talking about thousands of dollars for the difference in small side stones.
