I love the look of Vetch Royal Crown, but I'm not crazy about the thick band.  I'm wondering if a jeweler can make a such setting with thinner band (2.5 at the top and 2mm at the bottom or so) as a custom job.

Also, if you have one, could you please let me know the width of the band at the top?

I would love to see how it look from the side when it is worn.  Anyone has a pic?

Lastly, how much is the simple royal crown setting cost?  ...and how about the one with channel on the side??

Thanks!

you mean the Vatche Royal Crown?

What size is your diamond?

Precious Jewels has a 3c diamond in hers, she has posted some pictures.

Stermag also has a 1.5c in hers as well, she has pictures in the SMTR forum with side views too I think.

I love the setting with a very large stone...and I don't think it's that wide of a setting at all!! Isn't it about 2.5mm to begin with?

I think Sterm said her setting was something like $1200 or similar for the 1.5c stone head?

Hi Mara,

haha... yes, I meant to say Vatche....  :P

My stone is going to be around 1- 1.10.  If it's 2.5mm, then I think that's not bad at all.  It looks pretty thick in some picture that are taken from the top, so I thought it's much thicker.

hummm... $1200 is higher than what I wanted to spend, but if I really like it, I think it would worth it.  I'm thinking of stopping by a store who has the setting to see in person.

Thank you.

If possible, it would be a good idea to try to see the setting in peron...I always thought it looked big - because the photos are greatly magnified!!
But in person, the setting is not big at all........
