Ok well this time I am asking for my dear mother. She has been a long, long time lurker and simply too shy to post herself. In fact she introduced me to PS. So I am graciously asking for some help on her behalf. She seems to have found the shank of her dreams but is having difficulty with the head she would like with it. First I will post the shank from Knox Jewelers and then the various heads she likes. Her biggest thing is that she would like the head to be nestled into the scoop of the shank. Deco just got hers redone and my mom really likes the way her head is fitted right into the shank. She is also open to other ideas that any may have beyond the heads she has given me to post. And in advance thank you all so so much!

First her ideal ring shank.

This is her favorite head I think but she isn't sure how it will look with the shank.

Also from Knox jewelers

I have two pictures of the classic tiffany repro, not sure which is easier to use, sorry I don't know how to put more than one pic in a post.

I almost forgot. This is a shank she also likes and the head is the curvy type  she wants but is way way too thick. She was wondering if there is any way to make the other one look like YG and/or shave this head down in photoshop. Thanks everyone you are all so awesome. My mom was so excited when I said I would post for her. It means a lot all that you do!

sorry i cant offer photoshop help but the royal crown would probably not be able to be integrated to give that same original feel with an existing shank, part of it's charm is the way it X's down into the shank...

i like the 2nd picture posted, the one with the encrusted head...and the tiffany heads are nice too. seems like with that big scoopy U cutout that many things are possible...

i would also suggest maybe something like the stuller 6 prong which is what i have, the solstice, and WF just modified the crap out of it to make it look more scoopy or like i call it 'squatty'...and it's a head that can be incorporated into various types of piece.

have either one of you actually talked to brian knox? Since the setting is coming from him, not sure if he does bench work but seems like he'd be a great resource in order to find out WHAT is possible from those pictures you posted. photoshopping is one thing but some of them just may not be actually feasible to be put into the ring. this is what i experienced with my project, i had the RING and shank itself and needed a head that worked with an existing ring, but still incorporated what i wanted.

oh and lastly, keep in mind 'flushness of fit'...not sure if your mom has a w-ring she wants to wear with that ring, but that was another thing i had to deal with when putting the new head on, i had to have a ring that still sat flush.

good luck!

Thanks Mara, good point about the royal crown. We had thought about yours too actually just didn't post it. THe other one I thought might loo good is Matatora's new Lockes. The head is super scoopy and has those tiny accents that my mom likes as well.

We did indeed visit with Brian a while back and he was beyond fabulous! We will both (eventually) be going there for our erings. He does his own custom work and has very limited stock settings, most things are done upon request. So we have the freedom to do what we want with everything with in limitations of course .

As far as the wband she already has that figured out hehehe. I attached the pick of it. Just ignore the ering. The wring doesn't scoop out away from the ering but the scoop goes down and matches the scoop in the ering. Hope that makes sense.

THANK YOU JADELEAVES! It means a lot to her! I don't think that first head looks great with the filigree but she is arguing with me Mothers. Hehehe. Which is your favorite?

You're welcome!

I think it's hard to tell with my very shoddy photoshop work

I think the tiffany crown is my favorite, but it seems like your mum prefers more detailed prongs.

Oh Jade you did a fabulous job! My favorite is the first one with the diamond shapes in the head. If you could make that work in the connection to the shank I think it would be beautiful. Which one is ILoveSparkles Mom's favorite??

Oh thank you PS! That is her new favorite but she also really really likes the royal crown mock up which is my favorite too! (And my idea) I am going to go retrieve a picture of Matatora's and Mara's new head and see how those look if someone could photoshop those in for us too? She does really like the accent diamonds in the head for a little extra bling hehe.

OK I did my best to crop and resize these pictures of Mara's stuller head and Matatora's Lockes head to fit into the Knox ring. COuld someone photoshop these tow in and then hopefully, I will be done making requests for this ring. Unless of course anyone has any other brilliant ideas for my dear mum Thank you so much! This has been so much help!

yak, mata's head does not look good in that setting...i also don't like the tiffany one either.

the diamond encrusted one looks good, but i really like either the YG with 4 prong OR the royal crown looks fab too.

maybe 4 prong profile would fit better with that shank than the 6 prongs posted.

As RC is the most popular one i made this modification to fit shank better. Shoulders are tapered now to fit into added to the East and West positions curved bar, which in original RC is only in N and S sides.
If my explanation stinks more than my picture, let me know and i point those in the drawing
