I never thought finding a setting and a place to have my ring made would be so much trouble. I'm finally getting around to seting my unheated Burmese sapphire! Yay! However I'm having a hard time finding something thats just perfect. At first I wanted accent stones on the side but now I think I would like perhaps 2 point or 3 point tiny diamonds around the sapphire with a plain shank. I don't know if this is considered cluster or halo or what. The stone is just over a carat. Any ideas or pics appreciated. Will I have to go custom?

Thanks for posting those. I needed some inspiration. :) Yes, the first one is very close to what I was thinking of. ...but then the second one is really cool and I never would have even thought of a setting like that but who knows.I guess i just have to think about it for a while. Here is a pic of my stone. It's an oval but it's a native cut so it may not have perfect proportions. ![]()

oh, innerkitten, the 2nd one! or something similar! you wouldn't have to do all the diamonds all the way around down the sides. movie zombie "I don't feel enjoyment watching films that evoke passivity. I can't link it, but try http://www.igorman.com/index1.html and then go to designers. Click on Ambar and a cushion sapphire with a halo should pop up. It's not a plain shank, though.

Hmmm all of those are really nice. Movie Zombie, I also think the second one that Sophie posted, it's cool. kcoursolle, yeah that one is really nice. I'm not totally sold on my original halo idea either. Logan Sapphire, I remember you as meow collins! That ring is really close to what I was thinking of. I like that it's delicate. I'm an ectomorph and I think delicate stuff suits me. Elmo, Thanks for posting the link to the natural sapphire Company. i hadn't thought of looking at the designs there. Being a gemini I have a feeling it's going to be really hard to settle on an idea ...sigh

I have seen a saphire ring that is a more delicate version of the tiffany ribbon ring with the oval sapphire set east west... and it looked beautiful. Let me see if I can find a pic... here's the ribbon ring.

Gypsy that ribbon design is really cool. And your ring is totally stunning. Did you come up with the design yourself?

I can't do a setting like this cause it's the wrong shape. But isn't this a cute idea for a squarish stone. http://london-victorian-ring.co.uk/173_aquamarine_ring.htm Found it while looking for settings.

Your stone is my dream stone, and my dream setting would be a half moon diamond on either side. *SWOON* What ever you decide, I'm sure it will be gorgeous and I look forward to the result of your efforts! ***2 one way tickets and a diamond ring, hell it don't matter what the rain might bring...*** |
