Hello everyone, My soon-to-be fiance has fallen in love with the E-ring below. She wants a similar/same setting. It also looks similiar to the Cartier Honeymoon ring. The picture of the ring is on this vendors site. http://dimendscaasi.com/build/step1.asp?prodID=1A2B1 Preferably, in the picture at the above link, the band is around the middle of the diamond but I know she would like it more as in the cartier honeymoon setting. The thing is both Cartier and the vendor above wants me to buy both ring/band and stone. I only want the ring. Can anyone direct!!!! |

Have you gotten the stone already? Would you consider having the setting custom made?

Okay. That was just stunning. I can see why she wants it. But I haven't seen anything similar. Have you considered having it made custom... it wouldn't cost you too much more than the scaasi setting to have it done and either Quest or Leon (although Leon may not bw okay with copying that exactly) would make that beautifully. Nice to talk to you again, JulieN and thanks to U and FireGoddess for posting the e-ring picture from the vendors site. I am pretty computer savvy but couldn't do it and figured I'll juat post the link. Now I have not finalized the sale but I'll be going with the GOG or whiteflash ring you helped me with earlier. Now, the ideal band would be the 'honeymoon' Cartier band but it is darn expensive and they don't sell it without the stone. I am willing to settle for something similiar with a simple or pave band. Please advise. ps.I'll post the pic's of the stone once I get it.

What about this Jaffe? "jaffe" was the first thing I thought when I saw the DS. It is sapphire/diamond in the halo, but obviously it can be diamond.

We did see the 'Jaffe' before but it did not appeal to her. I have not looked into custom making the ring assuming it would be more expensive. I was hoping there might be vendor out there who could place my GOG or Whiteflash stone.

She is NOT totally bent on the bezel setting and will equally consider the dimendS setting above. In fact, I was wondering does the bezel setting cover the side of the diamond totally and steal the thunder of a 1 carat D,VS2 stone.

Honestly, my setting/ halo qoute from Quest is 3500, and mine includes 8 custom cut trapazoids. You might even save $$ if you go custom. It's definitely worth an email to them. Tell them you are a pricescope member who has a diamond (give them your diamond specs-- color, mm size, carats, depth and your girdle thickness) and want it set in a setting exactly like (pick one of the two-- either the scaasi or the Cartier. Blasphemy, but I like the Scaasi better, personally) the picture you attach. Tell them what color and clarity diamonds you'd like for the setting and ask for a qoute (I'd go no lower than F VS with your D center). It will probably take them 3-4 days at the maximum to get back to you. Kaliegh's ring took either 2 or 3 weeks to make. Totally worth it. Download the scaasi or the cartier pic (if it's the cartier... they'll probably just need the one pic because they'll probably know which one it is) and attach it to the email. It's a five minute email, and a three- four day wait (at the maximum)... and you might be pleasantly surprised (I'd be surprised if you weren't).

Thank you Gypsy and everybody else. In the meantime, I just surfed onto a 'Mark Morrell' website that custom makes rings. Any comments/experience anyone. Thank you all.

just put "Mark Morrell" into the PS search He often works with GOG. of course, do not ask him to copy a setting exactly.

Love your setting choices! Are you 100% on a "D" color stone? The size-monster in me can't let that pass unmentioned  .
