rca420 Rough Rock Total Posts: 31 Last Post: 3/18/2008 Member Since: 5/9/2006	I'm about to pull the trigger on a diamond and I'd like your opinions of this rock. 1) Is the grading report from AGS comparable to the grading report from GIA? 2) What do you think of the specs? 3) What should I do once I receive the diamond (appraise, insure it etc)? I'm a complete newbie, so I apologize if my questions seem ignorant. Thank you all!! Report: AGS Shape: Round Ideal Cut Carat: 1.220 Color: H Clarity: VS2 Depth: 60.6 Table: 54.6 Crown Angle: 34.7 Crown %: 15.7 Pavilion Angle: 40.7 Pavilion %: 42.8 Girdle: Thin to Medium Polish: Excellent Symmetry: Excellent Culet: Pointed Fluorescence: Negligible Measurements: 6.95-6.96X4.22

It gets a 1.0 on the HCA (Ex, Ex, Ex, VG). It probably is a good idea to at least have someone look at the stone and confirm it is as represented on the certification. If it comes with a description and valuation from the vendor, that information can often be used to add on to your homeowners insurance. Some people get a full independent appraisal. But yes, get it insured as soon as possible. ~~~ When in doubt...don't.~~~
