I was looking at signed pieces site, and then went to ebay to look for some items out of curiosity.  I didn't know signed pieces was on ebay, but I did a PS search and I guess that is old news.

My question is, aren't some of the pieces "used" and therefore the only one in stock?  I don't know much about ebay, but how can they have the same item at both places?  If someone buys the item on signed pieces site, and the auction is going on at ebay, don't they have to honor the auction?

I'm confused.  Sorry if I am naive about eBay - but I have read plenty on here warning consumers to stay away when diamond hunting!

it says directly on the sp site that all items are subject to prior sale.

Thanks Belle...I thought that meant all items are subject to being "used".   Guess my English major skills aren't as good as I thought...

But I am still not clear on how it works on ebay (I don't see the "prior sale" message there).

Maybe I'm just brain fried today...

i haven't seen their auctions, so i don't know the terms set forth for the items on ebay.  they must not have too many pieces that get interest from both sides or they wouldn't continue to offer items this way.   are the prices similar?  i wonder how many pieces they actually sell on ebay?  it seems to me most people that go to ebay for diamonds are looking for ridiculous pricing and aren't generally aware of what legitimate diamonds and prices are.

Their ebay prices are usually slightly higher than on their website. I'm guessing if someone wins the auction, SP would take it off their site pretty quickly and vice versa.

Thanks Mrs Salvo...I am eyeing a wedding band.  Their Buy it now price may be higher, but if it goes on regular bidding, it might be a bit cheaper.  I'm more than willing to pay a fair price!
