FI and I are tentatively planning on getting married here.  Has anyone been to a wedding at the Venetian or gotten married there themselves?  Since we live all the way across the country, we don't want there to be any snags, etc.  We figure the bigger hotels in Vegas do this all the time, so there really shouldn't be any worries.  We're just trying to ease our minds, and I thought this would probably be the perfect place to do so!
Thanks in advance!

Angela, I don't have any actual productive advice for you, but I just wanted to say that when I was at the Venetian a few weeks ago, it was sooooooo cute because they have all the regular (brown) gondolas, but then we saw a WHITE gondola and were like huh what's that? And it was for a bride and groom!!!! It was so cute! So my advice is...if you get married there, take a ride in the special wedding gondola! Hehe. But it really was beautiful inside and I imagine they would have a gorgeous chapel and be able to take good care of you!

Yeah, we were there in November, and it seemed like a great place.  We also considered the Bellagio, but the packages are quite a bit more.  If we wanted to spend THAT kind of money, we'd have a big one here.  We wanted to do something fun, NICE, but not super expensive...we could do it, but I'd rather go shopping and gambling with the extra $$$$.  (I know it's my wedding, but I think the Venetian is a good "second place")

ETA...of course, having been on a few real gondola rides in the real Venice, I don't know how the one in the hotel will stack up!  But I think it would be awesome to try!!!  And a great photo op!

Hehe, that seems entirely reasonable! I thought the Venetian really was very pretty inside, and if it looks nice enough to you then you certainly shouldn't bother spending all the extra money on going somewhere more expensive! Plus I'm envisioning all your "we're in Italy" wedding shots....so pretty!

I've been to the Venetian - its beautiful. And for a *little* while we considered getting married there. They have a website with super helpful wedding information. One of the girls just got married at the Bellagio, and it looked beautiful!

I love the venetian, I am getting married in Vegas at Mandalay Bay with the reception at the Four Seasons.  However, our welcome dinner the night before is going to be at Canaletto's in the venetian.  It is beautiful, the only catch to any Vegas wedding is that only their photographer can take pictures at the ceremony and they are like used car salesmen afterwards, selling you your pics.  Alot of girls hire an outside photographer to take pictures after the wedding at a more reasonable rate.

I had alot of help planning my vegas wedding on the knot vegas board.  I'm sure it will be beautiful!

Lizzie,

whens your wedding?  where is it?  I love vegas weddings!  I havent seen any of your posts on your weddings.  Canaletto's is supposed to be great, I've been there, but never in a private dining room.

Great minds do think alike!  How did you find Steve, if you get your pics first, definately let me see them!

Another thing...when reading on these sites on the Vegas hotels, it didn't look like you could hire an outside photographer...
So you CAN do that?
That would be awesome...

You cant do it for the ceremony, there is no way around it.  However, because of the limited amount of pics the chapel takes many people hire one for pre pics and post pics.  Bentley & Wilson is who most knot brides use because he is really good and fairly inexpensive.  Because I am having a blown out reception, I hired another photographer.

Here are a few pics from bio's on the knot with weddings at the venetian.  It is really pretty

I was torn between Mandalay and the Bellagio, Ijust loved the feel of mandalay.  They just opened a new chapel, and I havent seen it, but I hear its great!  Definately worth checking out!

I liked the venetian, but I wanted my wedding on the bridge and had to many people.  I then thought I wanted Paris, but the chapel just wasnt what I wanted.  So then we decided on Bellagio.  We ended two days of chapel searching decided on Bellagio with the reception at Ortanique in Paris.

The next day I went to the spa at Mandaly Bay and looked at their chapel, it was perfect I loved it.  We ended up booking it later that day, and choosing a ballroom at the FOur seasons for our reception.  They have just opened a new chapel, so the one we will marry in I havent seen yet, but I like that mandalay is a bit away from everything on the strip, but a quick ride to the vegas sign for cute pics!

Let me know what you decide!
