I would like a square cut diamond that is 6 X 6 X 4ish.

I was wondering what carat size that would equate to in the jubilee cut, queen or hearts, radiant and princess.

also--which of those is cut the most shallow?

Thanks!

maybe a 1.3, 1.4 princess?  same for radiant.  1.25-1.3 for square H&A (similar QoH)

Jubilee has better spread than princess for same carat weight but more expensive $/ct

My 1.05 Jubilee measure 6.06x6.07 of course it is a very shallow stone and I've had people tell me it looks more like a Jub of 1.25-1.3 ct HTH

Princess V--That's perfect, that's exactly what I would like.    Who did you get it from?  Do you think that's something I can get for under 8000 or 9000?  I would like it to be eyeclean and eye-white--LOL.  It would be set in platinum if that makes a difference for the color.

I have an H SI1 and it's incredibly eye-clean..when I got it appraised, I was told it looked more like a VS1-VS2 (I'm a huge stickler for clarity) and the H is white as can be to me as well. Is 8-9k your total budget? It's doable I think..the only problem is that Jonathan at GOG says the developer isn't cutting any Jubilees right now..you could give the developer a call though to see if there has been any progress lately. http://jubileecut.com

Yeah the 8-9K is the budget for the stone itself.  I already found the setting I want to put it in.  I am still saving up for the stone, so I was hoping 8-9K would be enough.  I will be upgrading my setting, so the ring fund will be taking a hit.  My goal is 2 years from now to have the stone of my dreams in the setting.  Do you think it's way too early to be looking?  Two years or so is my goal because I will be done with college and actually be getting paid, LOL.
I am trying to get an idea on prices so I can save up for it, like I said I was hoping to stay within 8-9k, but I could always wait another month or two after I graduate and increase the budget to 10 or 11k.  I love the more shallow stones, because then you really get to enjoy the table%, as the long as it doesn't take away from the light reflection.  That's why I was leaning towards the jubilee.  I haven't been able to find any info on the QOH cut though.

Another question, I will have my old setting that I would like to sell, it won't have the center stone because for now it will be going into the new setting.  Where is the best place to sell it to try to get the most for it?  It's 0.5ct tw diamonds on the e-ring 14kt white gold, and a tiny matching band with no diamonds.  I way overpaid for it $1935, I think the side diamonds are I1-I2.  Do you think it would be best to hold on to it until I get my new stone, and just sell the old center stone and setting together?  The center stone I have now is 0.63cts, princess cut, no idea on the color or clarity, I got it a while ago before I knew anything about diamonds (paid $1299 for it).  Now I know a little more thanks to everyone at PS.

Thank you so much for your help.  My husband isn't much help at all, he just wants me to get something I like as long as he doesn't hate it, LOL.

I think your budget is definitely doable if they have Jubilee stones available. As far as your old setting goes, I would ask various PS vendors (Pearlman's has a great consignment section) to see if they'll sell if for you. I definitely know that you won't be getting anywhere near what you paid for it, so be prepared. (You could always try Ebay? )

Have you considered the Lucere cut?? If you do a search on PS there have been a few people that have had bought that cut and I'm rather partial to it as well.

I haven't seen the Lucere cut in person, only on GOG's website.  I'm not sure how I feel about the step-like sides.  I like the flanders, thought that was pretty, same with the Queen of Hearts and Square H&A, but I am looking for a more shallow stone like the jubilee.  Do you know which, if any of those are closest to the jubilee?  Does Pearlman's have a website, I've never heard of them, could be because I haven't found all the sites out there, there's so many and with the help I've gotten from the PSers they've shown me so many more.  Have people had good experences with selling their settings on E-bay?  One place said they won't take the diamonds, and only give me the gold weight for it $58

You've been so much help!  Thanks for being patient with me!
