I love this idea that you both used!!

Can you tell me how you distributed the pages to the guests?  Like, at each place setting on their tables, or did someone stand at the reception hall door and give them out with a pen?

Also, how did you then collect them?

And finally, how long did it take to receive your pages/book from the vendor once you placed the order?  (I won't get our names printed, if that makes it faster.)

I think this would be a cool idea to have at our two weddings.

Hey there!

Well, we haven't been married yet so I'm not *exactly* sure how we're planning on distributing them, but I was considering having one at each place setting along with a silver mint julep cup containing 5 or 6 colored pencils (I have a bunch of those from when I used to draw a lot).

The other option I'm considering (and maybe slightly leaning towards right now?) is having a small table set up close to the door w/ two baskets, one basket containing the blank pages, the other basket for finished pages.  And then on the same table would be the mint julep cups w/ the colored pencils - then guests can grab the pages and a cup of pencils to take to a table while they sip on a cocktail...  Even if we distribute them at the place settings, we will still have the baskets set up 1) for the finished pages, and 2) I bought more than I needed so we'd have extras in case someone needs a "do-over."

In order to keep everyone on track, I talked this over with our DJ who will make an announcement once people arrive at the reception, then make a couple reminder announcements to fill out/return to guest book table.  I know of another girl who had one of these books and her sister/MOH just made an announcement at the beginning of the reception and kinda reminded the guests a couple of times.  She said it was great to come home from their honeymoon to see what all their guests had written.

I think it only took a week or so for our book and pages to be delivered (definitely less than 2 weeks) and we had ours personalized with our names so I don't think that process took an excessive amount of time.

I'm really excited about doing this - so many of our friends and family are "characters" so it'll be fun to see what they come up with!!

Hi, I know I'm kind of butting in here but I just wanted to chime in bc I did something similar...

I sorta made my own version of the guestbook pages (took out some of the stuff, changed the wording around a bit) on Adobe Illustrator, and just made them one half page, one sided.

At the entry table at the wedding I had two friends with izone cameras who snapped pics of the guests as they arrived, and stuck the pic on a guestbook page, and gave it to them to fill out. Had a bunch of pens and a stack of the pages. They collected them into a folder as ppl filled them out and it worked great.

I really enjoyed reading them afterwards!! They were pretty hilarious.

If you're interested in the template I made check it out here
- it's an older version but you get the idea.

Look in the Files section for the Guestbook files.

hi selflove! sorry i didnt reply earlier, i was out of town and did not have computer access!

I ordered the books personalized and I dont remember exactly how long it took to get them but it was pretty quick, maybe a couple weeks. You can email them at guestbookstore.com and they may be able to give you an idea how long turn around time would be.

What I did was when we set up the hall, I had them place one page at each place setting and then I had set out two cups at each table with Crayola markers with a sign on each cup explaining what to do.

I bought a flat black wire tray from office max, one that you would use on a desk to hold documents, and I made up a cute sign that I framed and placed next to the tray that said to put the completed pages in the tray when finished. I made the sign colorful and placed it near the gift table so people would see it. Then my BM collected the pages at the end and we put it in the album the next day. It was SO much fun to read what people wrote. On my pages people drew themselves but that would have been fun to use the I zone camera too! wish I would have thought of that :)

People loved doing them and it gave them something to do while waiting for us, and it added an element of fun and uniqueness to our reception :)

My favorite color is sparkle!!!
