Well, after all of you were kind enough to listen to me whine about missing my E-Ring while it was being reset, I thought I'd share pics of the new setting. Thanks!!!

Thanks so much! I felt like the diamond was hidden in the last setting, even though it was quite pretty but this one just feels like "the one".

Wow that looks beautiful!  The stone really sings in that setting - and looks so huge and sparkly.  Just simply stunning.

It's beautiful and really sets off your diamond.  So glad it's back and glad you finally feel like it's "your" ring!

Yumeeee!  Very very nice and classic!

ETA - I just had a look at the diamond in it's old setting and it looks even bigger now!  It was lovely but I prefer it in this setting

It's just beautiful! That is one of my favorite solitaire settings. Do you know the manufacturor or was it custom?

I liked it in the old setting too, but with a stone that beautiful you just can't go wrong. How did your fiance feel about the setting switch? What are you doing with the X prong - did they let you trade it?

Yes, it has a faint blue flouro. I love that way it looks in the sun!

The setting is Derco's (in San Francisco), not custom.

My fiance loves the setting now. He was all for changing it because he, too, felt like the stone was hidden in the other setting. He thinks it's more classic now.

Oh, and they totally let me trade the X-prong in and actually gave us money back because this setting is less expensive than the Vatche setting. They also told us that if we felt that this setting was too high or too low, to just come back and they would reset it again, no charge.

Suffice it to say, we bought our wedding bands from them, too. My FI got a brushed plat band and I got a plat band with 6 RB's in bar setting.

(Oh, and those are my nails but with a gel coating. )
