Well, just heard back that one of the inclusions are visible with naked eye! So much for SI1!! Thanks again for the reply!

SI1 in no way implies that the diamond is eye-clean, so no real shock there. When you dip into SI clarity, it's on a case-by-case basis, I'm afraid. That's not to say it isn't worth the extra effort. SI diamonds present a great value. |

well don't think that all SI1's are like that. I just bought an SI1 and it is eye clean. It is a good way of saving some money if you can find an eye clean SI1 or SI2

I'd try to stay away from ex. thin-thin girdle combo's, more prone to chipping.

sometime i think we expect too much from an SI stone, especially for a stone of this size (2.38ct) i mean come on people, why do you think they call it SI 1 ? there got to be inclusions there.you can't expect .50ct size SI inclusions in a 2.38ct stone. btw; agree with mrsS about the very thin girdle. it is always harder to find a "mind clean" stone than a eye clean stone. |

Well, I think I found an even better deal. Your thoughts PLEASE - What do you think it's worth? I am seeing from 26K and above here... HCA shows excellent. Supposedly no visible inclusions. you posted the exact same diamond again. or...you rejected the first stone, it went back to the supplier and was available, and then a second vendor told you it was eye-clean!

Date: 4/22/2006 8:30:14 PM JulieN, sbkim just edited his first post with the new stone - not a good idea, too confusing for those who are trying to help.
