Hi everyone,

I'm leaving for Jamaica on Thursday & getting married a week from today!    I'm really excited &, of course, can't stop thinking about all of the wedding details, so I thought I'd start a thread to share them with you.  I've probably already posted most of these things on different threads, but it might be nice to have them all in one place.

I also wanted to thank all of you for being so wonderful & supportive throughout this whole process from pre-engagement to wedding.  You guys have helped me through every step & have been instrumental in nearly every major decision in the process.  I can't tell you how much I've appreciated all of your advice & good wishes.  Thank you.

Ok, now on to the pictures!

Me in my dress at my 2nd fitting.

My wedding shoes.  The heel is thick enough that it shouldn't sink into the sand.

Blue topaz necklace I plan to wear for my wedding.  (Something blue to match the Caribbean ocean...)

Matching blue topaz dangly earrings.

My best friend made me this anklet & I attached a charm I borrowed from my mom. Now it's something old, new, borrowed & blue all in one.

Our rings.  FI's ring is titanium with a platinum inlay from Boone Titanium & my eternity band was made by Quest.

Palm tree garter. The palm tree is a pendant I bought on eBay & attached to the garter.

I want to put my hair up like this, but with a bit more fullness in the front with white dendrobium orchids scattered in the curls.

I like the orchids in the hair like this.

I love this makeup look.  Natural, with a touch of glamour.

FI's going to wear a black linen-blend suit from Baron Boutique in the style of this photo (with a white shirt, open collar, no tie, no shoes....but with a more understated island necklace.)

He has a coconut shell necklace very similar to this one (but in black & tan) that he bought on Block Island, where he proposed. I think it would add a beachy feel to the suit!

I got this parasol to keep the sun off my face between photos.  Do you like it, Scintillating?

Fans our guests for the ceremony

Our DIY save the date.  It's an actual flip flop.

The envelope for the save-the-dates--a picture of the 7 Mile Beach in Negril.

Our (in)formal invitations.

Hang on....more photos are coming...

Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."

Great stuff!!!    I love your shoes.  Since we are actually getting married by the beach in a gazebo, I went with a more pointy heel, but yours are just perfect for the sand!

Just love everything you've done.  I will, of course, be using your creativity for my own wedding!

Congrats again!

Beach wedding site at CSA

We're leaning towards having the ceremony on the beach, unless it's unbearably hot outside. I've heard the garden weddings are much cooler...

Garden wedding site at CSA

The Palms restaurant at CSA where we'll have our post-wedding dinner/reception.

The resort’s Mento band will play for our wedding & reception.

I'm thinking of something like this for my bouquet with white cymbidium orchids.

Or something like this with all white dendrobium orchids.

Do you guys have a preference?

I'd like to have the stems wrapped in ivory ribbon.

Pretty boutonniere.  (Thanks, flopkins!)

Our Jamaican rum cake will look something like this.  Not too exciting, but it's part of the package.

Our favors:  seashell wind chimes,

And a customized CD of Jamaican music

Our favors--all wrapped up.

Well, I think that's about it.  I hope everything comes together as planned, but even if it doesn't, we'll be in a tropical paradies with friends & loved ones & my sweet FI & I will be married at the end of the day.  That's what counts, right?

Thanks again for all of the friendship & support!  I love you guys.

Thanks so much for the compliments, everyone!

Albi, thanks for talking me into posting the complete thread.    You really twisted my arm...heh!

What do you guys think about the bouquet options?  Do you like the larger or smaller orchids?  (Scintillating--you read my mind on the orchids.  You're getting pretty good at that.  )  Thanks for the compliment on my rings too.    I'm glad it all looks festive--that's what I was going for!

SDL, I thought it was really sweet that my friend made that anklet for me.  It's actually quite sparkly.  I told my FI that & he said, "of course it is.  Don't you think she knows you?"  LOL...

Thanks, Caribou.

Amantdechat, feel free to use any of my ideas that you like--I'd be flattered!    Let me know if you'd like info on any of the vendors I used.

Thanks, kaleigh.  I'll miss you too!  (I'll try to stay off PS on my honeymoon, honest....)

As for the plans, we arrive on Thursday & just plan to chill that evening.  On Friday, we have an appointment with the on-site wedding coordinator to go over all of the ceremony details (wording, wedding site, flowers, cake, photos, videography, etc.)  On Friday night, we're all taking a sunset catamaran cruise, then coming back for the resort's big gala beach party.  Our wedding is at 3pm on Saturday.  I think we might take some of the photos beforehand so we're not too sweaty yet.  The ceremony should last for 15 minutes, then we have a private champagne & cake reception.  After that, it's (almost!) happy hour, then we're going to dinner together in the restaurant.  FI's birthday is actually on Sunday & our guests will still be at the resort.  We'll have to do something fun to celebrate.     Most of our guests are leaving on Monday, then we'll have the resort to ourselves until Saturday, when we leave to come home.

ky6, you bet I'll bring back lots of pics for you guys!

icekid, I know, I can't believe the engagement has flown so quickly.  Did I tell you I did wind up getting those octagonal cufflinks from Tiffany & engraving them with my initials on one & FI's on the other like we discussed?  They turned out really nicely.    I'm giving them to him as a birthday gift.  (Well, actually, one link as a wedding gift & one as a birthday gift.  He's been teasing me that I would always do this as his bday is a day after our wedding day--give him one sock for his bday & one sock for our anniversary, etc.)

Jamaica sounds fabulous for a wedding and your venue pics look great. You are going to be a beautiful bride. Be sure to post the pics and tell us all about it when you come back. Also, I love your shoes - are those starfish on the front?? Would you mind spilling where you found those?

Brightspot, I wish you the best of luck and best wishes for your wedding and future as a "Mrs.!"

It's been fun getting to know you as an engaged lady and seeing all your wedding plans here on PS.  I think your wedding will turn out to be absolutely fabulous and a memorable event for all involved, and I have to say you will make a very beautiful bride (I reserve that comment for those who I really find special--you seem beautiful inside and out!)

I look forward to seeing your posts on PS in the future--don't forget about us...we want to see all your beautiful Jamaica pics and of course, e-ring and wedding ring shots after you're married!  And you should always stick around to give your fabulous advice to the LIW's and BIW's, hee hee!

Congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy marriage!!!

Oh, I just love all of your details!!  I swear, if I hadn't already bought shoes I'd be off looking for those...  I like the second bouqet best but both are beautiful.  My favorite thing, though, is your favors.  I just love the windchimes and the Jamaican CDs and the way you've packaged everything!!

Have a wonderful wedding and just enjoy every minute.  Can't wait to see pics!

Thanks so much, everyone!  I had a little bachelorette party on Saturday night (I got to wear a tiara after all!) & tried to do some packing on Sunday.  (I wasn't very productive after a night of partying....)

I dragged my poor FI shopping on Sunday & got him some black slides for the wedding & resort & an off-white & a tan short sleeved silk shirt.  Hopefully one of them will look nice with his suit for the wedding (& compliment but not clash with my dress)

Ginger, you know I'll be coming back with lots of pictures.  A friend of mine just got me the "just married" flip flops (they leave the imprint of the words "just married" when you wear them on the beach.  Should make for a cute photo...

Scintillating,  thanks for your sweet post.  I hope everyone has a great time at our wedding.  I imagine it'll be quite different from other weddings our guests have attended.    Please do have a margarita & think of me next Sat.!  I know I'll be thinking of all of my friends on PS...

Tybee, not long until your beach wedding!  Are you getting excited?  What did you decide on the veil, by the way.

Selflove & chickflick, thanks for your thoughts on the bouquets.  I like them both--maybe I'll ask the wedding coordinator which one would be the most feasible to make?  I'll probably have the dendrobium (smaller) orchids in my hair.  I don't think the flowers necessarily need to match, though.

Selflove, That's so funny that you're getting nervous energy for other brides!  Maybe you should have a margarita on Sat. for me too!    I can't believe how soon your wedding is coming up.  Doesn't it seem like this time has flown?

Thanks, Tacori.  I'm pretty excited.

Thanks so much, Sarita.    I got my wedding shoes from Zappos.  Here's the link.  They're not quite as cute as the picture on the foot, but I like them a lot & think I'll be able to wear them again.  (Yes, those are starfish on the front!)  The heel is wide so they shouldn't sink into the sand.  I think they'd look great with your gorgeous dress!

Monarch, it's been fun getting to know you too--thanks so much for your sweet post.  It really warmed my heart.  How could I ever forget about you guys on PS?  I'll definitely be back after the wedding--I'm hooked.

chickflick, thanks for the compliment on our favors.  A friend of mine actually used those wind chimes for her wedding (hers had fall leaves, not shells) & the guests loved them.  I hope they make it to Jamaica in one piece...

Thanks, InLuvWithMrH, Matatora & Ebree.  I can't wait to tell you guys all about our celebration!
