Who are you inviting? How long do they last? I don't much about these, but I have found some cute invitations online.

I'm thinking of doing sort of a dual-luncheon on my wedding morning.... Our wedding is going to be in a very small town in the middle of nowhere (in the Adirondacks) so there aren't any big hotels or restaurants where people can really eat if we don't serve them food. So we're going to have a big informal lunch down by the lake for all of the guests...but I won't be going to it! Hehe, I'm planning to have a private brunch just with my maid of honor and "honorary bridesmaids" (still working on the term...but I want to have some sort of bridesmaid-like honor for my friends who can't be included in the actual wedding). That way everyone gets food, but I get a bit of alone time with my friends (or maybe also with a few members of my family? This is over a year away so the details aren't at all nailed down yet!) Several people in another thread recommended that idea to me when I was trying to figure out what to do with my not-quite-bridesmaids (I'm only having a maid of honor technically) and I thought it was a really sweet idea!

My SIL had one held at her mothers house, it was really nice. It was like a brunch around 10am with only women and only relatives and very close friends. We drank mimosa's (sp?) and ate pretty light. I dont know how long that they are supposed to last usually but this one did not really "end" the bride and bridesmaids (myself included) went on to get mani and pedi's and to the salon. So I am not too sure how long everyone stayed. The timing was nice because we did nails, then hair and makeup and they went right to the church. The photographer came too. I believe the wedding started at 4:30 or so and it flowed so nicely. Everyone had food in their tummys and it was much less stressful knowing where the bridal party was and being all together! I had never been to one or heard of one before that but it was great! Especially if you have out of town relatives coming, it is a nice way to spend more time with them.

I attended a bridal luncheon a couple of years ago. The wedding started at 6:30, and I believe the brunch was at 10 a.m. The guests were the BMs, moms, and an aunt, so I'd say about 10 people were there. I think it probably lasted 90 minutes to two hours. Nearly everyone else had to get to hair and makeup appointments. In this case, frankly, the whole thing was odd. None of the BMs knew each other, so it wasn't the bubbly-type luncheon you would expect to see. No one seemed particularly excited, and it felt like people were just exchanging pleasantries. BUT, I think they can be really fun if it's a truly tight-knit group of girls. Just make sure people have time between the brunch and ceremony time to relax a little.

here is the link for the invitations...I think they are so cute. I'll probably print them myself, because its so much cheaper. http://www.finestationery.com/product.cfm?prod_id=36727&fss_id=050420060853380877796145333160&cat_id=67&subcat_id=2&cat=2

Those are very cute. Honestly, I think I've seen some at Target that look quite similar. I dont' know if you're on a budget or worried about paper weight and whatnot, but it could be worth checking out.

My wedding is still a year away, but I think I'm going to do what my mom did. The wedding will be at 5, so me, the bridesmaids, and the mothers and grandmothers can all go out to lunch and then go to get our hair and makeup done.

I'm doing my bridesmaid luncheon a couple days before the wedding.. first, spa pedicures for all of us girls (so we have pretty feet for the wedding) and then I'm taking them to lunch. *edited because I'm a goof...* (Ok.. well stupid me the post says bridal luncheon, not bridesmaid luncheon.. not the same thing huh? Sorry!! My head.. I swear.. I have a zillion thoughts about the wedding. lol)

"Bridal luncheon" is a bit too grand to describe what I had on my wedding day, but me and my 4 maids had brunch at the restaurant of the hotel we all stayed at....just some average place with American cuisine and big booths. It was a casual and rushed affair as we all had to finish eating before our photo shoot across town. It was fun, though...I remember feeling really giddy and happy to be with my girls. I think we had all just had our makeup done and were trying not to mess it up.
