Morning ladies, a welcome to the thread for new writers! it's been pretty helpful to have a place to vent, both about the good days and bad... personally, i am back on track. diet is full of lots of greens (had both asparagus and spinach for dinner). and workout was 40 minutes of pretty intense ellipitical. i love that now, when i get out of the gym, it's still light out

Ok, I have an unusual excuse why I didn't make it to the gym last night... They were filming "The Wire" on my block last night and I was lucky to find a parking space when I got home... if I'd left, I would have had to park 6 blocks away in my sketchy neighborhood! And then, it started hailing! REALLY!!! I can't make this stuff up. I have water aerobics tonight and am looking forward to it. :-) Welcome to the new people!

Good morning ladies! I had a short workout last night--32 minutes on the treadmill for a total of 2.3 miles. I was meeting a friend for coffee and had to get on home and shower and eat before I went out. Lovelylulu, glad to hear you're back on track! Good job on the diet and workouts! I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I left the gym--it was still light out and not pitch dark like it has been the last 4-5 months! ![]() Sumbride, that is a pretty good excuse. You are too funny ("I can't make this stuff up!) ![]() Hope everyone has a fabulous day! "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." Henry David Thoreau |

i did some pilates before bed last nite, my thigh is stil hurting (man i am getting old!) but i will definitely walk today about 2m around the park if the rain holds off for a few more hours, it's gloomy again and rained all night. it's almost comical because we kind of huddle in the house and then as soon as the rain stops we rush out to take Portia to the bathroom or for me to walk or whatever. so sad!! when will it stop. on a fun note, i ordered some AG jeans on eBay to replace these old faves i have that have a torn butt, hehee...and i ordered my size, but sometimes you know they just don't fit so it's still a gamble sometimes...well i opened the package and both Greg and i were looking at and he goes it looks kind of small...and i was kind of apprehensive so i pull them on and they fit PERFECTLY. they also have some stretch in them but no struggling to close the zipper or anything. i was so happy, and we had just had dinner and a reeses peanut butter cup. HAHA. so i feel like progress is definitely being made. i also noticed that some of my other jeans are fitting a little looser in the legs and butt as well. my waist is kind of a 'straight waist' with not tons of curve to it and even when the rest of my is thin, it doesn't get that small, so it has always been an irritant of mine. so i'm VERY HAPPY that i have a new pair of fave jeans and i can get rid of the holey butt ones! ok on a last note...i wanted to tell you guys about Kashi Go Lean cereal. in that article yesterday it mentioned getting more protein. well i just started eating KGL because i get bored with my other Kashi cereals and it has 13g of protein, 10g of fiber and 1g of fat. calories is 140 for a 1c. sugars are low too at 6g but i eat it with a chopped banana because lets face it, with all that good stuff, the cereal is a little bland and i just love bananas. so if you guys are looking for a new cereal for a change, and a way to get more protein into your diet, i totally recommend it. it's not the Go Lean crunch, it's just regular Go Lean with 'crunchy fiber twigs, soy protein grahams, and honey puffs'. lol re the twigs. the protein is soy so dont know if that count as dairy but i know i don't eat enough protein so this cereal is great. have a good day gals!!! ________________________________ |

I went to sleep late last night, and getting up at 6am was brutal this morning... particularly since it still feels like 5am... but I managed. Today was mostly about showing up though - I worked arms, shoulders and back and spent 20 minutes or so stretching and relaxing before work. Glad I'm done for the day... now if only I could take a nap, life would be good. |

Lulu - I work in DC but live in Baltimore and my boss told me at 4:30 that I should leave early to get home before the storm! I didn't, but I did make it home literally 10 minutes before the bottom fell out of the clouds! It was quite a crazy storm! I can't remember hail that lasted so long before... Mara - I'm not a fan of the Kashi cereal, but I love the Go Lean blueberry waffles! Two of those with a smear of organic crunchy peanut butter makes a great breakfast! Quite tasty! :-) And way more protein than Eggo. ;-) I just got back from the pool and I'm completely worn out. Trying to find something to make for dinner that doesn't take any energy.
