I've been reading this site for months, originally while educating myself about diamonds, and now just becuase I'm obsessed! Well, instead of just reading everyone else's stories, I finally have to post mine. I found a setting I love a few months ago, and last month I was working with engagementringsdirect to get the stone. My boyfriend wants me to absolutely love my ring forever, and I was more than happy to pick it out! Well, once he knew what I wanted, I've left it up to him to get it so it would be a surprise, which is what we both want. I didn't know when it would be done or when/how he plans to propose, though I've been pretty sure that he had ordered it. Well, I'm home from work today, and guess what came in the mail!!!!!! I had to sign for it, and now the box is just staring at me! I can't just sit on my hands any longer, and I didn't know any other place that people would understand what I'm going through! He'll probably be bummed that I know he has it, and I don't know how long he'll wait to propose, but it's here in the house with me, and he won't be home from work for another 4 hours. I hope he isn't reading this, since he knows I'm on here constantly and he'll definitely know I wrote this! Thanks to all of you for the great info and support you are always sharing!!! I'm glad to finally be joining the group... |

Ooooh, that's very exciting! I'm sure resisting the temptation to open will be hard. I'd put it away, out of eyesight and then give it to him right away when you see him. Do the two of you live together? Hopefully he'll propose very, very soon so you won't be in waiting much longer. Do you have any pictures? Very exciting!!

Thanks! We've lived together for over a year now, but I did not expect him to have it shipped here. His parents don't live too far away, and we go visit them every couple of weeks, so I figured he'd have it sent there, since we're both usually at work and no one would have been here to sign for it normally. I don't have any pictures yet, but I know that as soon as I get it, they'll be posted on here! Sorry for all the typos in my messages today. My hands are kind of shaky!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you EBree. I had a busy weekend. The setting is Gelin Abaci tension setting TR-167 http://www.mickyroof.com/tr167b.jpg It is white gold with the satin finish and the center is a RB .61 G VS2 GIA Ideal cut. He let me look at it over the weekend to make sure everything looked like it was supposed to, but I don't know when it will be mine to wear! Should be very soon though - I hope. I'll keep you all posted and get pics as soon as it's on my finger!
