Sorry.. no pics yet.. None really got taken with MY camera.. so I have to see if anything of worth is on my mom's camera. She doesn't really know how to use the camera though.. :) In fact, my neice, who was a WONDERFUL flowergirl/helper at the shower came up to me and told me that "Grandma doesn't know how to use the camera, but I do!".. she's 5.. And I love her.

The best parts were seeing my friends I hadn't seen in a while.. my neice being such a great helper.., my wonderful amazing best friend and MOH who kind of took charge and ran the shower even though she wasn't really the host.. The best gift though... was a GARTER.. as those of you who've been around for awhile know, I'm OBSESSED with my grandmothers wedding dress.. My mom and FMIL got together and my mom had FMIL make a garter using the lace from my grandma's gown!! It was only like the 2nd gift I opened.. and I started bawling!! Its so pretty. I'll have to get some pics of it..

Oh.. and the food was SOOO yummy. I have a favorite sandwich from the restaurant.. Its Turkey with Jalepenos and I forget whatelse.. some kind of yummy mayo and cheese.. but they had little mini versions of that.. SO GOOD!!

Ah.. time to go to work. boo..

Oh! I nearly forgot! My FMIL gave me a Washer and Dryer! LOL..I kind of knew she was planning on getting them for us... but it was such a nice shower gift.. She wrapped detergent and fabric softener sheets and wrote "washer" on the detergent" and "dryer" on the softener sheers.  And FSIL got us a really pretty bookcase.. but apparently its backordered.. :) Yay!

Melissa- sounds like your shower was perfect!!  That is absolutely so sweet that your mom and MIL contributed to the garter.  The perfect something old, right?  Le Metro is one of my Buffalo favorites too!  Yum..

plus the washer/dryer?!  that's so nice of your FMIL.  Having a washer and dryer has to be one of the best parts of having a house- at least it seems like it when you're living in an apartment and you have to carry clothes up and down all of those stairs

Oh, the garter seems like such a sweet gift!  How nice!  Aren't Grandmas the best?!

Did you have the shower at the original restaurant you wanted, the one that charged an extra fee or somehting?

Wow now you have a piece of your Grandma's dress as a part of your wedding.  That's awesome.  I definitely need to see a picture of the garter; it sounds so pretty (I remember how delicate the lace of your Grandma's dress was - it was gorgeous).  Sound like you had a blast at the shower.  I am glad everything turned out okay.  I am curious like Selflove, so did you have it at the restaurant you wanted?

Sounds like a great bridal shower! Can you post a pic of your grandma's dress too? I'd love to see it.

Yes, we did have it at the restaurant I wanted. And I believe it was worth the extra money. It was just perfect..

Don't have the garter pic yet.. but here is Grandma's dress

The garter is a shimmery white organza.. but FMIL actually cut individual flowers from the lace from my Grandma's gown.. and sewed in around the middle of the garter.. She said she didn't want to make the entire garter from the lace because its pretty yellowed, she didn't think it would look nice with my white dress.

Maybe tonight I can post some pictures.

Okay! I have some pictures now.. :) Here is the garter.

I have a few shower pictures. but.. I think my neice actually managed to get a finger print on the camera lens when she was "using" the camera.. because there are the pics she took, with her finger blocking half of them.. and then all the pics after that.. have a mysterious haze on them..

When I opened the garter. I LOOK like I'm laughing.. but I'm pretty sure I was crying.. Looking at the pictures I must have been a wee bit drunker than I thought I was, because my eyes are closed in EVERY picture

This card was from the girl who used to babysit me from the time I was 6 years old. She put a picture of me inside the card from when I was probably 7 or 8. It was SO sweet!

I really like this picture. I am overjoyed with my OXO bar set.. (from my MOH's mom!).. and Quinn had to take a break from her flowergirl duties..  for some cake..

And my mom with my younger neice, Kennedy, who is 21 months.. :) this was SUCH a cute moment.. because when Kennedy came into the shower, she RAN to my mom and yelled "Grandma!".. and hugged her.. This has never happened before, and in fact, she has never really wanted much to do with her Grandma.. It was adorable!

The garter looks great.  I can't believe that your FMIL actuallly cut pieces of the lace flower out to make it; that's a lot of work.  I actually kind of like the color of the lace - it's a creamy ivory, so pretty.
