I just ran a price comparison. Similar diamonds are listed in the internet for about $1,000 less and maybe better cut.

note: pricescope does't not sell diamonds or jewelry.

Could you tell why you are considering this particular stone?

The wholesale trade price for this stone is around 4700$ US
You're paying 25% over that price. Maybe try to bargain
to get it for 10 to 15% over the trade price
depending on the cut.

Hope this helps,

Trichrome.

Are you referring to Rapaport price list or other sources?

Leonid,

Not exactly.. i'm referring to the wholesale average asking price according
to National Jeweler. Rap prices are under copyright. However, the price I'm referring to
is around 25 to 30% off Rap, which is the price for an average cut stone.

Best regards,

Trichrome.

is it this one? National Jeweler: Diamond Price Report

I'm suprised they published wholesale asking prices. Probably a problem with security.

Leonid,

Yes it's the one. I'm also a little bit surprised. If your compare
those prices with the Rap sheet, you'll notice that there are
between 25-30% under Rap which makes sense.
By the way, are you member of the trade?

Best regards,
Trichrome.

I just checked out prices on similar stones and saw that you could probably get the same type of stone for less.Like lenoid said it's about 1000.00 more than you can get it for!

I chose this diamond because it really looks beautiful. It has a great sparkle to it, and my girlfriend really seemed to like it. It went so well with the setting we picked out. Is that price really too expensive, should I try to get it for less. Thanks for you responses, I really appreciate it.
