Here I am again, wedding dress shopping on the internet. Since I got such great feedback before, I thought I'd ask about another dress (if you're not sick of me yet!).

The problem: I flip flop from one style to another...really, I like all sorts of things. The one thing I do know is I want silk satin. Whether I have to buy a sample to get this, I think it really makes a difference.

So, I found this dress while browsing. I kinda really like it. But is it bridal enough? If all goes to plan, I'll be having an outdoor garden wedding, so would a dress like this fit the "garden theme"? Truthfully, I just want your opinions. All my girlfriends went to college around the U.S. and I'm here by my lonesome in CA with no one to shop with. Not even my mom (though, when I go back to TX, I will shop with her). In the meantime, what do you think?

The dress pictured here has a green bow around the bust...mine would be ivory.

This is most definitely bridal enough and I can very easily picture it fitting right in with a garden themed wedding.

I like this one a lot :)

I think for a garden wedding it would be perfect!

Just a warning - it may be hard to find a bra to go with this dress.  My dress had a low neckline like this one and I searched for months before I found a bra that would work.  I tried those sticky bras and didn't like them (didn't offer me enough support, and I am not very big busted) and most of the other strapless bras I tried on sat higher than the neckline.

I think it is a beautiful dress though!

ETA:  I just noticed that it is a Justina McCaffrey gown.  *Sigh*  my dream dress - the one I didn't get - was by that same designer.

I love it! It's sweet and stylish and very feminine/sexy - I've never been fond of overkill wedding gowns so this one to me is just perfect!

I'm not a busty girl (small B), so I figured I'd just go braless. I figured if that wouldn't work, I'd do the tape bra...but you didn't like them? Hmm. I've never tried them before.

I was a size B too (before I had kids that is ) and I didn't like the sticky ones because quite honestly I felt like I was braless.  And this is going to be TMI...but I am very sensitive and felt like you could totally see my nipples through the fabric.  Even a warm breeze brought the girls out, if you know what I mean.

Ya, I think it's bridaly. It's got the train, and it's a beautiful train too! I think it will work for a garden wedding. Once you get the veil on it, I don't think you'd have second thoughts about it being bridaly. Just my opinion.

Is that model wearing a ballet shoe?? and its a pointe shoe too Cool!!!

I think it's lovely, especially for a garden wedding.

I probably won't wear a veil either. Just a pretty headband or a couple of beaded combs. Still think it'd work?

I'm not sure if all of her (Justina McCaffrey) runway shows are like that, but I know for that particular one, the models danced down the runway in their dresses.

Its gorgeous! Totally bridal.. but for a girl on a budget you do have expensive tastes! JMC's don't come cheap!

Tell me about it! I lust after what I can't have...unless I can find a way around it! I haven't priced this gown yet, but hopefully it'll be less than her fuller gowns (Alexia II, Magnificat). I'm really keeping re-sale in mind as well.

Then again, I could try it on and feel horrible in it. It seems I've felt the best in all the hideously expensive gowns so far, though.

ETA: By the way, your dress has made me come to *love* the simple, sheath-esque lace gowns. They're SO gorgeous, sleek and bridal. There's a Monique Lhuillier (and a Melissa Sweet, I think you posted it before) I'm drooling over as we speak. They're probably $6k, though. Oh well, I can drool from afar.

Ebree, I had an outdoor ceremony in Sep. 2003, recep. immediately after...I wore a dress somewhat similar to the one you posted!  I think the dress you posted screams "bride" even without a veil or tiara.  Do you love the dress????  Then wear it, lol!!!

what a gorgeous dress!  i adore that neckline -- so feminine and sweet, but not too frilly.  will you be wearing ballet shoes too?  that's what i'll be wearing.  FI's on the short side and i'm on the tall side, so he needs all the help he can get!  luckily for me that means my feet will be nice and comfy all night long!  i'm not loving the train as much, it feel like it missing something, like row of buttons all the way down.  very pretty!  here's hoping the dress is within your budget!!!!

I think it is a beautiful dress and VERY bridal. I think it would be perfect though I do agree that there may be a huge bra issue. I personally would not be comfortable with wearing no bra (dancing may be dangerous) but if you do than go for it. I would try the sticky bras before you make a decision. I wore them once and broke out into a rash Would not be good on your wedding day.

EBree:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that dress.    It is definitely bridal enough, the flare at the bottom/train definitely makes it formal enough and like a wedding dress.

Have you though of using one of those Nu Bras?  They're made out of the material that those "cutlet" enhancers are made of (the ones you stick in your bra to look larger).  They're flexible and mold to your body, and don't have straps or a back part.  They're available in nude, and look great under clothes -- very natural.  One of my friends is a A/small B, and she wears her Nu Bra a lot, and looks great.  It gives enough support and shaping under clothes, but doesn't add bulk or look strange.  Perfect for tops you'd normally not wear a bra with.

Here is a description from Saks, there's the original type and a newer lighter type.  If you do a Internet search you can find many different brands and prices (and pictures).

Nu Bra
Ideal for sheer summer tops, figure-revealing swimsuits and sexy evening dresses. This nude, strapless, backless bra provides comfortable, ultra-flattering coverage that looks and feels like your own skin. Can be worn up to 100 times. Front hook closure for beautiful cleavage enhancement. Adheres to body with no side extensions. Silicone-filled bra with polyurethane shell. Hand wash in warm water. Made in USA.

Provides comfortable, ultra-flattering coverage that looks and feels like your own skin. Can be worn up to 100 times. Front hook closure for beautiful cleavage enhancement. Adheres to body with no side extensions. Polyurethane/nylon-tricot. Hand wash in warm water. Imported.

Yes it is definitely bridal.  Sophisticated and modern, but also timeless and elegant.  I especially like the bodice.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I'm glad you all like it. I like it more and more each time I see it, though I'm constantly changing my mind.

Now, for the real issue (besides the price, of course)...trying it on. I'll have to find a bridal salon that has this dress. I'll call around, and if I find it, I'll take pictures!

Regarding the price, if I fall in love with it, I'll shop around. Price it all over the country. I found another dress I love somewhere else for $700 less, so I might be okay. If not, I found a dress I really like (yet to try it on) that's much, much more affordable.

EBree, I think it's lovely. You're near Pasadena, right? Maybe when we get our stone (in like 3 weeks!! YAY!) ny BF and I can take a little trip out there and I can look with you. He wouldn't be coming along, but because I have horrible driving skills, he carts me around places. He's an angel. Anyway, I think the dress is fantastic, and I just love the bust. The detail is magnificent.

Uh, hello, did someone say they need a companion for bridal gown shopping?!?!  Call around to the bridal salons in Redondo Beach and maybe if you find one in a shop down there, after our LA Get-Together this Saturday, we'll go with you!!  How fun would THAT be?!?!?

As for that dress, I think it would be PERFECT for a garden wedding!!  The train is the perfect length, the gown is not beaded or overly ornate, I think it would look great.

I'm actually hoping for an outdoor gardeny wedding and I've been looking at similar styles. I think it'd be great for an outdoor wedding and its beautiful. IMO, you don't want a huge dress for an outdoor wedding, and that one is just perfect.

According to the Justina McCaffrey website, the only boutique that carries her gowns is one in Costa Mesa. Is giving bridal salons a call even worth a try? I don't know how wedding gown boutiques work...could bridal salons carry JMC and not list themselves with her website? If so, I'll call every bridal salon within 50 miles! Well, maybe not 50.

Amber....you're getting your stone in 3 weeks?! That's so exciting! Have you found THE stone yet?

Ellewoods: Thanks for the nubra suggestion! I'll definitely check them out.

And thanks again for all the positive comments! I'm glad it's well-received. It gets more and more gorgeous everytime I see it!

Oh wow! that is a gorgeous dress! It is definitely bridal enough! A suggestion if you decide to get this dress, I saw some pictures online of a bride in a similiar type dress and she wore a floor length veil with it and it looked so elegant!
