Can someone take a look at this and let me know if this is a good deal. We looked at this ring at Rogers and Hollands and it was a little bigger center diamond but it was $4,000. This one is exactly the same just a smaller center diamond.
Thanks!

caveat emptor.  If everything is as they say, (big if) it's a deal.  The problem is that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.  If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.  (especially on e-bay)

Sorry if this wasn't what you wanted to hear.

I agree. I actually looked at a few of their pieces before and they have some gorgeous designs, but you can't trust them to be what they say they are. However, if you decide to buy from them, I definitely suggest you get it appraised immediately and if its not what you ordered, send it back! Even though they have a 10 day guarantee and mostly good feedback, most of the people who bought from them probably never got the ring looked at to make sure it was what they claimed. And like Shay said, if it looks too good to be true...

Personally I wouldn't want an Emerald Cut of J-K color (uncertified?) at ANY price. Emerald cuts are so "open" they really show tint ... so buying one UNSEEN that may be more like a GIA/AGS M/N/O ... and you won't be sure whether the tint will be yellow or brownish or creamy ... NOT FOR ME.

The ring looks very pretty in the picture, I just have my doubts what you'd get in the mail would truly resemble that pix.

Thanks for the imput. I had a friend of mine buy through them and she had hers appraised and it was 2x what she paid for it. I know that jewelry stores have a high markup I just didn't know how much. Thanks for the imput!

What it's worth "on paper" versus how much you'd love it and want to wear it forever are probably two completely different critera. Regardless of where things are purchased, stones & rings & jewelry OFTEN appraises for 2x the price paid ... it doesn't mean she got a steal ... just about average. (IMO)

If you're looking for a good deal on a nice ring - a lot of people here have had success doing just that online, but not on Ebay.

Hi Alexis,

I don't mean to burst your bubble. I went to the ebay listing and the ring looks very nice, however, if you look at the bottom they have rings for $300,000plus (a 10ct stone) and the picture is identical to the $200,000plus 6ct stone. How is it that they have half a million dollars worth of stones and cannot bother to take real pictures of the stone/ ring? That doesn't sit well with me. I also don't think it's cool to have the headline read "1.33ct Emerald Diamond ...) when the emerald is actually less than half of that at .51 ct. Another problem is that their certification is GHI, never heard of them, so their J-K could be way lower.

Whiteflash has .50ct Emerald cut stone starting at $1100, Blue Nile also has a similar priced diamond of H colour and .56ct. GIA certified, so you know the H really is an H. I would do a search on the top of the page and see what comes up in your price range. If you have a $1000 to spend, you may do better to get an awesome centre and build it up over some time. Whiteflash also has a fantastic trade in policy, so what is .5 ct now, could grow as well.

I hope that you will post what you get, we do love pictures : )

I wish you well,

Bridget
