Hi all, I had started a post a few weeks back about deciding between two stones from Shenoa & Co. for an engagement ring. I have settled on the following: GIA certified Asscher cut 6.47x6.18x4.30 mm 1.52ct Depth: 69.6% Table: 54% Girdle: Thin to medium Culet: None Polish/Symmetry: EX/EX Clarity: SI1 Color:F Flour: None This was an exhausting process but I have to say while I have read many negative posts regarding Shenoa and their ebay store, I have to say I was treated with outstanding service from the minute I walked into their store. I think people need to understand that if you are in the market for a high quality stone you are going to have to pay the fair market price as opposed to getting a "steal" on an auction based site such as ebay. I am sure people have had bad experiences buying stones on the internet, which is why I would prefer to make that type of purchase in person. Enough about that. Pictures are coming shortly and I would love everyone's opinion. I had it set in a platinum solitare setting exactly like the one in the link below. And for those who believe there eye clean SI1 Asschers do not exist, you are definitely mistaken. If you want to save $$ I would recommend sacrificing a little on the clarity, as no one except my jewler would look at the ring with a microscope. http://danielk.net/flash/html_pages/Ad_NYLoveStory.html |

Glad to hear you are happy! And I can't wait for your pics! As for clarity, you are preaching to the choir . A lot of us here on PS will go as low as possible in clarity as long as it is eye clean! I'm glad you found an eye clean SI1 for an asscher, I'm sure that wasn't easy!I am personally still hesitant to ever buy from a company that misadvertises themselves on ebay, even if a common sensed person should realize that you cannot buy a great diamond at a tenth of the price. But that's me, and all that matters here is that you have a great diamond you are happy with!! Now get moving on those pics!

I agree and I have absolutely no doubt that people will have problems buying stones on ebay from anyone. However, having said that I can only go by my own experience with them and I have to say that since I walked into their place they showed me a million stones, did not push anything on me, let me come in anytime to look without making me feel rushed to make a decision and upgraded me from a 1.32 VS2 F color to a 1.52 SI1 F color at no additional cost to me, which as a consumer makes me very happy. What are people's thoughts on the solitare setting? I personally think asscher's look the best in solitare setting but that is just me.
