I don't have a digital camera and I'm not a computer genious, it might take me a while to get pics up. So- yesterday was my day off as Wednesday usually is. BF actually had the day off as well, he rarely gets a weekday off. BF and I were planning to hang out and go to dinner anyway at one of a fav places that we hadn't been to in a while and I was going to stay at his place last night. I told him that I would just drive up to the restaurant and meet him there. He says no, no, no, I'll come pick you up. Which makes me feel bad that he's doing all this driving (we live about 30 miles apart) I said fine ok, but I feel guilty. So he shows up at my house and off we go. As we are going along on the expressway, he turns off to go down Storrow Drive (any familiar with Boston will know what I'm talking about in places here) I asked "where are you going?" He says "I just have to make a quick stop and then we'll be on the way to dinner." I think nothing of it and we continue chatting. We now come into Cambridge and into Central Square. I'm thinking to myself- what does he have to do in Cambridge? He goes into one of the municipal parking lots and I say out loud "ah, scene of the crime'. He chuckles at that but can't find a spot in the lots, so finds a parking spot on the street and says let's go. I have no clue where we're going, but we walk along Mass Ave. for a bit and then turn down side street to the municipal lot behind Blockbuster and he stops beside a couple of cars parked there. Mind you we're standing nearly in the middle of the driving aisle, in the way of cars. He stands there and says, "What better place to do this..." and I went cold and figured out what he was going to do. I started to kind of laugh since it felt unreal. He says "almost exactly 5 years ago, I walked you back to your car in this lot and kissed you good night for the first time. You have made in incredibly happy for the past 5 years and I want to continue beng this happy. So this is the perfect place to ask you something. (he's choked up while doing this) then he say "now the embarassing part" and gets down to his knee and reaches in his pocket saying "will you keep going forward with me as my wife?" and I started bawling. I could only nod, I couldn't get any words out. When he stood up, some people walking back and forth actually started to clap when he put the ring on my finger. I still couldn't say anything and he just held me for a few more minutes. I finally said we could go and he agreed since a lot in Central Square is not the best place to be pulling out a diamond. I spent the rest of the evening just staring at it, trying to hold a converation and looking at him saying "I really can't believe you want to marry me." When leaving the restaurant, I was hopping around and planting big kisses on him. the two hostesses were saying good night to use as we left and saying enjoy your good mood and I said "we'll we got engaged a little while ago so I'm kind of spastic right now" and showed them the ring. The rest of the evening we just curled on the couch watching tv (dont' ask me what, can't remember) and then his sister called, the one who got married in May and moved to NC. BF told her what he was planning and she wanted to know how it went. I'm so tired now since I couldn't get to sleep at all. I've told some co-workers and emailed a bunch of friends, but there are no words for how I feel now. I got to get back to work, but I'll be back. I have been slacking so bad today, but my sup understands why.
