Finally, my quest to find a gorgeous Marquise center stone is over.  When I originally came to this site, you guys and gals saved me.  I was about to drop 2k on a center stone that was way too shallow and glassy looking.  After some great tips, education and research, Mark Turnowski help me acquire this diamond.  I had already acquired the bridal set, but I was taking my time with the center stone.  Thanks to everyone's input, I got the best diamond I could acquire for the woman that means everything to me.  I will propose to her this weekend at a Hawaiian Luau in Waikiki (see my thread http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=39842&pageNo=1&num=30 ).

Here's the specs on the diamond and also some pics.  Sorry for the picture quality, but I don't have a macro feature on my camera.

Weight  0.80
Report  GIA
Shape  Maqruise Brilliant
Color    E
Clarity   SI1
Measurements 9.60x4.83x3.10
Depth %  64.2
Table  %  57
Fluorescence  None
Polish         Very Good
Symmetry   Very Good
There's such little bowtie present, it's not even noticeable.

The bridal set has 9 round stones that are 1.01 tcw

That marquise centerstone was WELL worth the wait - it's a stunner!  Very sparkly, clearly well cut - not a hint of a bowtie in the pics.  And that wedding set is going to bling her socks off.  Good luck at your very romantic proposal!!!!

I love it. I have always loved the marquis even though its popularity faded there for awhile. They are coming back in style I believe.

Beautiful set and diamond!  Those specs are similar to my marquise and I was just in the market for a new setting.  She's going to love it.  I chose round and baguette diamonds this time to surround my center.  It looks stunning!

Thanks for all the compliments.  It was a lot of work, but well worth it.  When I picked out the setting I liked its simplicity and the potential blingage effect it would create with just the right center stone.  Who says fancy cuts can't be all that brilliant?

Very sparkly, definitely worth the wait.

She said yes and was floored by the ring.  Thanks everyone!  I often catch her staring at the ring.  We work together and many clients comment on the ring.  One even told her that she was blinding them while we were sitting out in the sunlight.  LOL!
