I posted before about choosing between Royal Crown and royal x-prong. Well, I ended up choosing the royal x-prong in platinum and had it set by the authorized Vatche dealer here. I went to pick it up today and although the setting and diamond look beautiful, I noticed right off that the basket (?) was askew (tilted down to the right). It seems that it has thrown the balance of the ring off kilter slightly, enough to be noticeable to me immediately. The salesman admitted that he now noticed it too (he hadn't seen it before). He was going to send it back to be corrected. My concern is: can this really be fixed? Or is this a faulty setting that needs to be replaced. Should this diamond have been sent off to Vatche for setting? I know others here have had them set by other vendors. Help!! Any expert advice? |

Was it Vatche that set the diamond or the jeweler? If it was the jeweler, I think they might have to fix it. Regardless, it is not your fault, and they should make it right for you. Please keep us posted.

Most noticeable was the small bar of platinum that goes from prong to prong on the side view was cock-eyed. Then it seemed like the shoulders of the setting were not symetrical. Basically it was a beautiful ring, but it's just off. I really don't understand how it can be fixed.

if the workmanship of the actual setting is off, i'm sure your local jeweler will have vatche replace the faulty one. It sounds like they are willing to help you, I wouldn't worry about it
