So I've narrowed my search to these 2. Actually 3 (My budget for the diamond is $4000 maybe a hair more) My priority is THE ABSOLUTE BEST CUT I can get for the money. I want my girl to drop on her ass when she sees this :) (A starnge thing btw, yesterday I put these very same diamond #'s in the cut adviser and I was getting dif #'s. (Has there been any adjustments made to the cut adviser since yesterday? I could have sworn I got a .6 Total visual performance for the 1st stone...) Stone #1 click Price: $3,918.00 Report: GIA Shape: Round Ideal Cut Carat: 1.01 Color: J Clarity: SI1 Depth: 60.3 Table: 56 Crown Angle: 34.7 Crown %: 15.4 Pavilion Angle: 40.8 Pavilion %: 43 Girdle: Thin to Medium Polish: Very Good Symmetry: Excellent Culet: None Fluorescence: No Measurements: 6.52-6.54X3.94 Cut Adviser: Light Return Excellent Fire Excellent Scintillation Excellent Spread or diameter for weight Excellent Total Visual Performance 1.2 - Excellent within TIC range I like this stone a lot and by looking at zoom pic I can see no noticable faults. Is #2 better because it gives a total visual performance of 1 rather than this stone's 1.2? This stone did get an Excellent grade on everything. Stone 2 only got a Very Good in Spread... Stone 2 click Item Code: GIA-14814955 Price: $3,930.00 Report: GIA Shape: Round Ideal Cut Carat: 1.00 Color: J Clarity: SI1 Depth: 60.9 Table: 56 Crown Angle: 34.6 Crown %: 15.3 Pavilion Angle: 40.7 Pavilion %: 42.9 Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted Polish: Excellent Symmetry: Excellent Culet: None Fluorescence: No Measurements: 6.47-6.50X3.95 Cut Adviser: Light Return Excellent Fire Excellent Scintillation Excellent Spread Very Good Total Visual Performance 1 - Excellent within TIC range This stone has a better total Visual Performance but I can see a cloud in the shaft of the arrow at 10 o'clock and another cloud on the tip of the arrow at 5 o'clock. But do the numbers outweigh that? Stone #3 click Item Code: AGS-5196910 Price: $4,271.00 Report: AGS Shape: A Cut Above H&A Carat: 1.017 Color: J Clarity: SI2 Depth: 60.7 Table: 56 Crown Angle: 35 Crown %: 15.5 Pavilion Angle: 40.9 Pavilion %: 43.1 Girdle: 0.6%-1.2% Polish: Ideal Symmetry: Ideal Culet: Pointed Fluorescence: Negligible Measurements: 6.54-6.57X3.97 Cut Adviser: Light Return Excellent Fire Very Good Scintillation Very Good Spread Very Good Total Visual Performance 1.8 - Excellent within TIC range This one might be a bit past my budget but it IS a H&A. Should this be a deciding factor? I've heard that one can often see the same pattern on WF's ES stones. The ones above seem to have a cut that is even better than this one. Would they not show the same pattern? The total visual performance # on this one isn't as good as the 1st two either.. but since it is below a 2... does it matter? I do see a very noticable fault right smack in the middle of the table face though. It looks as if I may be able to see that with the naked eye but I'm no diamond expert... Based on these things which of these will be the "knock my gf on her ass diamond"? Please help! About to make that all important ENGAGEMENT RING purchase. |

I'm not an expert at all, but from the looks of it, I'd choose #1! It looks the best cut to me, plus it's the cheapest of the 3 So great stone all around. And what a sweet BF to want to blow her away You're the best!

I know... option 1 looks good. I guess I just want some experts to hold my hand and tell me "that one grasshopper, I am certain of this because XXXXXX"... or at least "not that one!" lol Since the day I've decided I want to spend the rest of my life with her... I really have not been able to stop thinking about her and how she deserves the BEST ...(the best I can afford... ) Since I'm new at this I need some reinforcement. If $$$ were not an issue between these 3... which one would you get and why? About to make that all important |

If you'd like 'experts to hold your hand' (hehe), you should probably call the experts at WF who have the stones in-house and ask them what they think since they can see the stones side by side! Numbers are just that, numbers, they do help you narrow down the selection from say 10 to 3 but now that you are at that point, I'd use their eyes as yours...good luck! I'm sure they all will be beautiful, but I have had great luck with buying SI's and similar from WF so you're in good hands! ________________________________ |

Date: 1/20/2006 9:40:36 PM Yes I agree. Have them eye ball all 3. You can't go wrong with any of them. But I would want them to be my eyes and give me their expert advice. They are extremely honest and very reliable. Good luck!!!Author: Mara If you'd like 'experts to hold your hand' (hehe), you should probably call the experts at WF who have the stones in-house and ask them what they think since they can see the stones side by side!
