Been to Four Seasons Aviara near San Diego? |

Have a business convention there soon and wondering about the shopping (ha ha) It seems I always have plenty of down time at these things and would like to know where to go. I've read there is an outlet mall nearby and then there is La Jolla. Two different creatures, I bet! Any ideas? Oh, isn't the GIA nearby?

The Four Seasons Aviara is in Carlsbad. You're about 40 minutes north of San Diego proper, and 25 minutes north of La Jolla. Yes, there's a great outlet shopping center near there. They have all the outlet favorites: Bananna Republic, Coach, NineWest, Gap, Crate & Barrel, etc.. I believe the actual name of it is Carlsbad Company Stores. Don't forget to visit the spa at the Four Seasons- It's a good one. I believe that GIA is also in Carlsbad, just not sure where- sorry!

You pass GIA on your right on your way to Legoland.. its on the same drive. Passing all the car dealers first... its quite amazing.

The Carlsbad Company Stores is near the corner of I-5 and Palomar Airport Road. You might also want to visit The Forum, which has the likes of J Jill, Borders, Z Gallerie, Anthropologie, Sur la Table, Black and White, Chicos, Coldwater Creek, VS, Panera Bakery, etc. It's on the corner of El Camino Real and Calle Barcelona, south of the Four Seasons. Great shopping at the Del Mar Flower Mall if you don't want to go as far as La Jolla. And while you're here, definitely go to the GIA. You can sign in as a guest and tour their amazing gem collection.
