Hello there! I am new to the fourm but have been reading it for a few weeks (yes, I'm a lurker). I am looking to buy a diamond and wanted to know what you thought about these specs. Carat weight: 0.71 Cut: Very Good Color: D Clarity: VS2 Depth %: 74.6% Table %: 72% Symmetry: Good Polish: Excellent Girdle: Thin to thick Culet: None Fluorescence: Medium blue Measurements: 4.86x4.84x3.61 mm Length/width ratio: 1.00 The price on it is $2,496. This is going to go on a Tacori Wedding Bells HT 2329 setting. I have read in here about the Fluorescence and how it helps the ring look whiter. Will it( Fluorescence of Medium Blue) make the ring look darker since it is already a color of "D"? I guess my second question would be; is this a good price for this stone? Any help would be great. Thanks. |

It could be very nice, but to really give you an accurate opinion it needs to be seen. On fancy shapes the proportions can't be relied on and the medium blue MIGHT affect its appearance either as a plus or minus. Is it an Asscher, square emerald cut or a princess? Rockdoc

Welcome What shape is this diamond?

It is a princess cut Diamond. The only issue with this is I'm getting it online from BlueNile so I won't be able to see it ahead of time. Any comments on the price? Thanks so much for your help. I'm super stoked about getting this ring because I'm getting it at the dealers price but the dealer can't match the stones that I've found online so.....

it could be very nice, and the price is good. you may notice the effects of the mb fluor. more with the 'd' color, but it usually isn't offensive. the good thing is, bn has a good return policy so if you don't like it you can return it without much hassel.

For about the same amount of $ you could probably get a stone with and E or F color with no flour. (And you will never no the difference between the D, E, F once it's set) How about... http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?pid=LD00956115&query=2&filter_id=0 or... http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?pid=LD00372034&query=2&filter_id=0 Not sure if these might help, good luck

Thank you all for the help. I also found some diamonds w/o Fluorescence. This is one which is also a Princess cut. Carat weight: 0.70 Cut: Very Good Color: E Clarity: VS2 Depth %: 70.5% Table %: 75% Symmetry: Very good Polish: Good Girdle: Medium to very thick Culet: None Fluorescence: None Measurements: 5.18x4.91x3.46 mm Length/width ratio: 1.05 This one is $2,568. Now I have one other question about the Girdle. Will this one look good with a Girdle of M to VTK? How does the girdle affect princess cut diamonds? Once again thanks for all the help ya'll are making this so much easier for me.
