Precision Set at Good Old Gold?!

rlockton Rough Rock Total Posts: 9 Last Post: 12/16/2005 Member Since: 11/30/2005	Has anyone bought a Precision Set setting from Good Old Gold yet? I am looking for a platinum eternity band and engagement ring at a local jewelry store and decided to get another quote from GOG. The GOG price was $3000 while my local jeweler was $4600 retail. Now I know I could probably get the B&M store down a bit from negotiating, but that seems too good to be true. Does anyone know if they actually get their rings from Precision Set or are they just making bands that look identical? I even checked to make sure I was getting quoted the same size, quality level of melee's, and color so I don't get how significant the price reduction is! Am I missing on something else here?

Here is the wedding band I want.......I was going to have them just take out a stone and put in a 4 prong holder for the setting because I don't like how the setting they make rises up.

GoodoldGold set her rings to Precision set for the new head. I believe they would send your stone to Precision Set for the setting. you can always call them to be sure.. Here's Leila's thread about her new stone and GOG sending it to Precision Set. ----------------------------- A deal is only a deal if you are getting exactly what you want.
