This post isn't about a Ladies in Waiting issue so much....but I am so excited I wanted to share. As some of you know, I've been drooling over Daniel K rings for a few months now and I can't get them out of my mind. A few months ago I tried on the Rosebud and fell in love....but haven't been able to find many pictures of it that show the detail and how it really looks in person. Well I just found some today, out of the blue, and I love it even more! It's shown with a asscher center stone, and I would do a cushion cut probably or a radiant if I could do a custom "inspired by the Rosebud" piece. In reality none of that is happening any time soon but now I have plenty of pictures to drool over when I'm daydreaming. ![]()

Just one more...By the way, I was going to post these in "Show me the Ring" but since it's not my ring I didn't think that was appropriate. ![]() ![]()

Hi Princess V! I am studying for my law schooll exams too! But when I take a break I go straight to PS. I wish I had more willpower but it's such a nice place to go after dealing with eye strain, lugging thousands of pounds of books on my back, and dealing with rude people in the library. Although I am careful how I position my computer.....I don't want just anyone knowing about my PS obsession! ![]() Good luck with your studying!

Hi Elle! Good luck to you too! Yes I'm a transfer to my law school now and its terribly hard not to be excited about just getting engaged since I barely know these people (most non PS people don't understand our diamond obsession anyway!) I'm starting to make friends though...out of curiousity what law school do you attend? You can PM me if you want to...are you a 1L/2L/3L? Good luck on exams again! I LOVED Legally Blonde! Eep sorry for hijacking your thread and changing it to law school stuff!

Elle that ring is gorgeous!! You said that's the Michael K? It's still fairly simple compared to a lot of those melee settings. It's fairly simple, yet very elegant - that's exactly the kind of style I'm looking. That rock has got to be a 1-2 ct though? I'm looking for a diamond between .75-1 ct, and I don't know if that setting would look good with a smaller stone. Oh, well. Like you say a girl can dream. And I do alll the time

Hi Sunkist! The ring I posted is by Daniel K. I like the Michael B rings too, they are nice and simple but sparkle tons! The center stone on the ring I posted is 2.89 carats. I'm not looking at stones that big either, but I hope to maybe go with one around 2 carats if I can get a good balance of quality and value. Of course it's all up to my BF, but I know I certainly won't be getting a 2 carat Daniel K. If I got a Daniel K the center stone would probably be about .25 carats, LOL. ![]() I tried on a different Daniel K setting a couple months ago (I think it was called the Royal Crown or something like that)....and it was with a 3 carat. It looked beautiful with the 3 carat. But then I tried on the same ring with a 2 carat center stone (which is still huge!), and the ring just didn't look as nice. I mean I guess that's an obvious comment, if you're someone who likes bigger stones, but I just mean to point out that some settings are really meant to go with very large center stones and don't look as good with anything in the normal range of center stone carat size. I guess it's a trick of all the advertisements using very large center stones to show off the rings.

I am wondering if someone has any suggestions about a matching band for this setting? I noticed that part of the ring bows out. Or is that very insignificant?

Hi Asscher Pal. I have tried that ring on with the Daniel K eternity wedding band and it fit together fine. The eternity band was very thin and matched beautifully. I don't think it fit *exactly* like some of those specially made sets (Precision Fit I think they're called), but there wasn't any of a gap in between that I noticed. It definitely looked nice and complementary together. Scintillating: You absolutely MUST go try some Daniel K rings on! Although after I did I couldn't stop thinking about them, which has been bad. Since I've seen them in person I haven't seen anything else that even compares in terms of all the details, the thinness of the band, etc. But for now I'll just have to dream!

Hey Elle, I was browsing and saw this, Dimend Scaasi's Faux Rosebud Interesting, who knew there was enough demand for the Rosebud for their to be a knockoff? I saw it and thought of you, a fellow Rosebud lover. I know you're probably going with Daniel K, the workmanship is divine! (and the knock-off will surely be mediocre.) Just thought I'd share. I have tried on a few of his settings, but I have yet to see the Rosebud in person. ( I can't find it anywhere in Boston.) Scintillating... ![]()

An Asscher, claw prongs and pave - YUM! Elle, you and I do have very similar taste! I'm on complete polar opposites when it comes to what I like. Part of me has continued to love the pave craze when combined with Asschers - and Daniel K - Ummmppphhh, but the more realistic, lazy-about-ring-maintenance part of me wants a solitaire with no additional diamonds. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your dream ring! *********************************************** |
