Hey guys ![]() Im finally ready to get a hold of a couple of diamonds and see which i like best. I want to compare a Solasfera and an H&A from Googoldgold. here are the two links: Here is the H&A And here is the Solasfera I know that these two diamonds have totally different personalities, but are the specs in the same ballpark as far as an equal comparison? Or should i narrow my search a little further? I think i found the closest diamonds to eachother within the inventory offered at this time. Thank you all!!! You guys are the best

You guys are the best ![]() I like the Solasfera in terms of light performance MUCH better. The H&A is pretty lifeless in light positions 4 and 5, and that is reflected in the hit in scintillation. You say you are comparing "specs" - what specs? These are totally different cuts - 10 arrows vs 8, and I don't know (you should ask Jonathan) if comparing angles, etc between the 2 cuts is a good comparison. What exactly are you looking for? Budget? Color? Size? If you like the busier look but killer light performance of the Solasfera then this one (as almost all of them are) is a sure winner. If you want a nice H&A, personally I'd pass on this one - I'd personally rather see better light performance in all light views of the BS. Nice LightScope on this one, I see though. Hmm. I'd ask Jonathan.

Thanks anyway-- my fault I guess the only thing i can compare is the color clarity and size- which is pretty close ~The kNight Owl~ |

Daniel, I purchased a 0.8ct Solasfera a month ago. In the process, I looked at the 1.03 J SI2 from GOG (gorgeous eyclean, white looking at the crown, just a bit too yellow from the side). I was able to compare it to H&A. Both looked amazing. The facets can be seen easier in the H&A, but the Solasfera twinkles more. I went with a smaller better quality Solasfera for the same price. I considered the 1.10 H&A myself, and still have some remorse over it. The cut is superb. Look at the 1.03 J, for 2500$ less, you only lose 0.2mm in diameter. If you have a prong setting or a yellow gold, you'll never see the faint yellow from the side. It also has medium fluorescence. Again, I have remorse... Hope this helps. Dom Yesterday is definetly too late, tommorow might be too late, so make it happen today. |
