Something has got me very puzzled, and I feel like an idiot for not being able to figure it out.  These three SP bands have the same width, but the melee size is different for all of them.  How is it possible to have different stone sizes and the same band width?  Does the amount of platinum used differ or something?

The only alternative I can think of is that they are using the word "thickness" in the way I usually mean "width."  Any feedback?  Thanks so much!

Peonygirl, I feel like a twit, I am not quite sure what you mean by this, do you mean the amount of diamonds they are able to fit on the same width band, even if the diamonds are larger than those of a similar band?  I should imagine that could be variable as to how close or far apart they choose to set the diamonds to space them evenly,  also to accomodate slightly larger if needed.  I guess this is where the art of the jeweller and designer comes into play.  Also a jump in carat weight of a few points wouldn't make a lot of size difference - if any with such tiny stones. Am I on the right track?

Ring one is 2mm wide and 1.8 thick .60tcw size 5.5
Ring Two is 2mm wide and 1.7 thick .61tcw size 6
Ring Three is 2mm wide and 1.7 thick .75 tcw size 6
For the first two the diffrence is clearly due to the diffrences in ring size...for the second and third there are less stones going around the same amount of finger so it does seem that they would be wider. Ask. I think there may be typos in the third ring posted it says the final weight for that ring is 1.2 which strikes me as highly unlikely. I am not sure if I answered your question. HTH

I think you made a better job of it than I did Matatora!  I guess I might have got there eventually - yours makes sense!

the difference is diamonds size doesn't differ enough to change the width. all three rings you posted are 2mm wide like Mat said and their "thinkness" height differs just a hair, not noticable to the eye at all IMO..
