I am so excited! After it took three weeks for my mom's old e-ring stone to reach Houston (see this thread), I decided to go ahead with the project even though my sister's wedding date had passed. Who knows, maybe I'll actually get to wear it for my hypothetical wedding .Anyway, it is being made in white gold, with ACA melee, of course. I just got these wax pics...What do you all think? I think it looks great, though I wonder if the sides should be more open? I didn't specify before because I honestly didn't have anything in mind. Opinions?

you should check out aljdewey's thread on her halo pendant, she had them do a latticework on the sides so it's much more open.

Looks great fatafelice and you should check out Alj's halo as Mara suggested the lattice work makes it more open and is very pretty too. Either way it will look great, good for you!!!

Wow, those look great! WF will have to start making halo pendants available to the general public because they will be in such high demand. Yours will be gorgeous!

Thanks for the thoughts, guys. Aljdewey's pendant was part of my inspiration. I love it, but I'm not sure if the angularity of the lattice is for me. What about circle cut-outs all around, like the ones for the chain? Too flying saucer-ish? I guess I need to sleep on this!

Keep in mind too that you actually don't really see much of the lattice or the sides when it's on the neck, so maybe it will be fine as all metal as a 'typical' bezel.

Fatafelice, what about filigree? Whatever you choose, that's going to one beautiful pendant. I always wanted a halo pendant.

What about circle cut-outs all around, like the ones for the chain? Too flying saucer-ish? I guess I need to sleep on this! So flattered to have been your inspiration! I have to say.....wait until you see it in person! It's breathtaking.I wasn't sure about the lattice either, but it really is quite nice. An alternate suggestion for you, though......what about cutouts in a paisley/teardrop shape.....you know, the shape that appears in paisley prints? It's like bent teardrops alternating. I think that would be pretty...and less angular. _____________________ |

............kinda like these shapes......alternating/interlocking around the perimeter of the pendant Cut-out style like the lattice, but shaped this way. What do you think? _____________________ |

jcrow: I absolutely thought of diamonds around the sides, but now that my big sis isn't helping to finance this project, the budget for it is tight. aljdewey: I love the paisley/teardrop idea! My sister's wedding present from her husband was a aquamarine halo pendant and it has teardrop cut outs around the sides. It looks awesome! But it is also a substantially larger stone than my little RB. So, I made a decision. I just emailed Denise at WF and told her to go ahead with the wax as-is. I could go through a million other possibilities, but I think that is what I will be happiest with long-term. The stone is pretty small, I think about .45-.50. and I was worried it might just be unnecesary or too busy to embellish the sides for such a small piece. I keep telling myself to "keep it simple" about everthing else in my life, so I am following my own advice! I can't wait until it is finished! I will post the pics as soon as humanly possible!
