I came across this photo today while looking for high karat gold jewelry. (I may even have come across it before and posted it before. It looks familiar!) Anyway, I had to post it. I absolutely love these! I thought we could post collections of stackable rings in colored gems by various designers here. We have had threads on the Sheldon Speyer mini-mania rings and I posted about Kirk Kara stackable colored rings. I think the time has come to round up all the collections and post photos of them in one place! Let's let Christopher Designs kick off the new stackable colored rings thread!

http://www.jameselliot.com/ I found some pretty pieces on this website.  Quite pricey though, but no harm in browsing.

Sorry, not off hand. I may have known the prices once. Before I decided to buy Sheldon Speyer mini-mania rings (of which I have so far collected one), I looked into other stackable rings. I believe that everyone now has a line of them, however. If you want to browse, you can look at a lot of them!

I hope Kirk Kara has not stopped making its very, very thin stackable rings. I have told the story many times of meeting a saleswoman who had on her right hand what I thought was a very wide right hand ring. A very beautiful, delicate one, with designs in it!

Well...it turned ou they were mini-rings. Stackable rings. I believe she said they were designed by an Armenian in California. I did some research and thought that that must have been the founder of Kirk Kara, Krekor Karaguezian!

Back then when I looked at the Kirk Kara website, I think I saw stackable rings. Tonight I cannot find any!

Here is another thread about stackable rings. You will see that in it I was shown the picture I just showed you today. Short memory span!!!

I do, and it is yellow. I can certainly repost it, but it isn't really much to look at all by itself! I was hoping to get some photos of a lot of stackable rings together by a lot of designers...so that we could compare a group by one designer with a group by another! The other thread reminded me I saw a line by Bez Ambar. Maybe I can find photos of those!

I did not find a photo of Bez Ambar rings all together, but this shows what some of them look like.

That last photo is too small; one cannot see the individual rings on the sides. Try visiting the website for a better look!

I couldn't resist posting the pic you linked above.

I think they're fun,  but probably not in such quantity!  Any idea of how much these baubles cost?

Oh, njc, thank you!!! You did a fabulous job posting the Kirk Kara rings. The ones in the two bottom rows-the very thin ones-are the kind that I saw on the woman who had so many of them. I believe she must have had a lot of diamond bands and/or bands with diamonds and colored stones because the rings gave an impression of a wide, white area with colored designs throughout it! (It was magnificent!)

I am looking for some photographs of the Sheldon Speyer stackable rings from his mini-mania collection. Here is some of what "Professional Jeweler" said about this collection.

"You can never be too rich or too thin. The second half of that old saying may be a theme for Sheldon Speyer, long-known for vintage looks and more recently for thin platinum wedding bands set by hand with G/VS full-cut diamonds. Speyer expands this popular line to include sapphires, rubies, garnets, tsavorites and orange garnets in pink or yellow gold as well as platinum.

His newest collection is Mini Mania, an ultrathin platinum band (only 1.25mm wide) with hand-cut stones measuring just 0.8mm. 'Production of these designs is extremely difficult,' he says, crediting a Far East gem-cutting and gem-setting facility that works exclusively with him. The rings have 45-50 round or triangular VS or VVS diamonds or about 75 round colored gems. Each has a hand-engraved pattern on the sides.

'The brilliance of the bands is amazing,' he says. 'Some women buy seven to 10 bands at a time and mix the colors for a rainbow effect.' Mini Mania rings – starting at $600 retail – now comprise more than half of the company’s sales."

This is a (somewhat unexciting) photo of the gorgeous Mini-Mania rings designed by Sheldon Speyer.

Calm down, MZ. They are merely yellow sapphires. No need to get yourself worked up over nothing :-).

I've seen the Sheldon Speyer rings in person and I wasn't thrilled with the quality.

As the owner of one, I'd like to know what you saw and what you didn't like. I would prefer not to buy any more bands if I am getting something that is not of good quality! Maybe I can switch to Kirk Kara if I ever get another mini band!

AGBF - I looked up where the closest Kirk Kara dealer was to me, and they said Charleston Alexander on Route 7 near Bailey's Cross Roads... i dont know how close that is to you. One day im going in their and get my fix!

If the rings didnt cost so much, i like the idea of getting one every year or two for a bday present... maybe for the "milestones"?

I went to a Chareleston Alexander to look, but I get the names of stores in Virginia mixed up. I don't know if the one I went to was at a Bailey's Crossing, either. Chances are good that if they carry Kirk Kara mini rings, I went to look at Kirk Kara mini-rings. I do not recall them, however. Once I decided on the Sheldon Speyer mini-mania, I put other stackables out of mind.

I would like to know what treysar saw in them, though. I really would! I am not in the market for any stackable rings now, but if I live long enough I probably will be once again someday. I don't want to throw good money after bad if Sheldon Speyer isn't making a product as good as some of his fellows! There are plenty of designers out there making stackable rings!

THe quality problem that i sw wsa on a ring that looekd braided - one "string" of the braid was diamonds, the other sapphire. The sapphires were obviously not the same size of the diamonds - they were eneveen and dak and the ring looked lopsided to me. This could just be that 1 ring that i saw - so don't take it to heart, go with what you see.
