Hi everyone!

My BF proposed to me on Friday and I still can't believe it!!!

THE PROPOSAL: He told me that he had to meet a friend to drop something off but she would only be home in 30mins.  So in the meantime we would stop at our favorite ice cream parlour a coupe of blocks away.  I didn't really feel like eating ice cream since it was pretty cold (~7-10 degrees Celcius) that night but he said he was craving it.  Anyway, we got to the ice cream parlour 5mins before they closed for the night and my BF asked me to pick a sorbet flavor from the list on the wall.  The first one listed was 'mangue' (English translation: mango), the next one was 'Cindy'!!!  I turned to my BF and tell him..."weird, there's a sorbet flavor called Cindy?!"  Which happened to be my name!  Next was another flavor, 'trichamp' (which I think translates to 3 types of Berries) and then was "will you".  That's when I read the rest and it said "Cindy will you marry me?"  on the wall.  Even though I knew he was going to propose before the end of the year...I honestly didn't think he would propose NOW!  I was in SHOCK!!!  And I turned around and he was on his knee and he proposed to me!!!  I of course said yes!  We've been going out for a little over 7yrs and we are now finally engaged.  I'm soooo happy!  And I LOVE my ring!!!!

Here's a pic of the wall at Bilboquet in Montreal (Outremont):

And here's the ring!!!  It's a 1.27ct E/SI1 radiant in a x-prong platinum setting (ring size 2.75) which I helped picked out with my FI. He helped me take the pictures...and there are a LOT:

I would like to thank Bob at WF for helping me find this beautiful diamond.  I know there was a couple of issues at first but at the end he delivered a beautiful ring...and I am SOOOO happy!

I bought the 0.80CTW Ideal RB (I/SI1) Ready Set Go stud earrings in 3 prong WG martini setting from WF...and I would like to thank Renee for the amazing service!!!    And here they are with my ring:

I got them appraised here in Montreal and the appraiser told me that they were F-G/SI1!!!  Woohoo!!!  I was very happy to hear this...even though it is hard to appraise diamonds in the settings.

Thanks Kaleigh!  He can never surprise me (he only managed 2 times in the 7yrs I've known him)...so he REALLY wanted to surprise me this time.

Here are some more pics:

It sparkles SOOOOOO much...did I mention that I love it?

What a cute & unique way to propose! Congratulations to the two of you!

Your ring looks very nice! It looked so large on your fingers I had to go back and check finger size! Glad you're so happy with the new ring & your earrings, they're all beautiful

Thanks Kerbear560, Blue824 and Jelly!

At first I thought it looked big but I'm started to have diamond shrinkage!!   I've gotten used to the size but I know I will never upgrade (he would kill me!!).  Maybe get a RHR in a few years.

I don't know how to decribe how sparkly it is...it looks like it has a life of its own (I know it sounds weird).  It sparkles THAT much!  More than my stud earrings which I thought sparkled a lot!

I can't believe how small your fingers are! The ring is lovely; I like the graceful side view of it very much. I hope you will be very happy!

PS-Is that a Vatché setting?

Best,

Thanks Rita & Deborah!

I know a few of my friends thought it was a 1.5ct...but it only looks that big because I have 'baby' hands.  I've always hated how small my fingers were but I guess it all worked out at the end

The dimensions are 6.49*6.1*3.99

It's a copy of the DVatché x-prong setting.

What a sweet (yummy) and romantic proposal! I love it and now you have a justifiable reason to eat ice cream any time you want. Brillant! The earring are nice as well...I am longing for a pair in three prong baskets...I wonder if they would swap them for me.

Your ring is gorgeous, and I'm sure it looks even better in person.  Radiants seem to be hard to photograph, the sparkles just don't show up as well in pictures.  I know mine is a well-cut diamond, but it doesn't show that well in photographs.  Yours is a beautiful diamond, and I hope you have many happy years with it.

Thanks Matatora, CFemme, Maya, Sarah, coda72, MissGotRocks, appletini, mrssalvo, lovelylulu, Sundial, Patty, Angel7, curlygirl and BrightSpot!!!

I was actually a little scared that I ordered the size too small....but since it's pretty cold here in Montreal right now...my ring is spinning like crazy!  So I'm glad I got it a 2.75.
