Service Fee instead of Markup.
It would be a set % of the Diamond Cost.

btw the dealers here would buy new-ags0 graded diamonds all day from you at 20% below rap because its a better deal than they are buying for now.

True 20% off is pretty steep but 17% is my average + shipping.

Service Fee instead of Markup.

It would be a set % of the Diamond Cost.

What please tell is the difference?
most of the diamonds on PS search are priced at cost + % allready.

Markup:
Markup is the difference between invoice cost and selling price. It may be expressed either as a percentage of the selling price or the cost price and is supposed to cover all the costs of doing business plus a profit. Whether markup is based on the selling price or the cost price, the base is always equal to 100 percent.

Like I said fraud.
FTC would have fun with that one :}

I was contacted years ago by a fellow who had the idea to sell diamonds at dead cost and let the advertising fees from his planned very busy site create the cash flow.  He figured there would be tons of traffic to the site since he was giving away a valuable product, Diamonds.

It never took off, as far as I know, but this idea is not really new.  It may be a fresh approach in a changing market, but not all that different than Pricescope where prices are certainly "right" and the information is open and honest in the overall.  No faulting GOG's site, either.

This place, Pricescope, has a proven track record with the public, with dealers, and many consumers.  It can't get a lot better.

ok
but advertising no mark up then charging one is fraud at worst, deceptive practice at best both felonies in my state if its over $150.

Hmmm.

A website where you can buy diamonds at good prices coupled with lots of educational information.  It just might work!
