What are the pros and cons of insurance? Can anyone recommend a good insurer? Thanks.

2carrots, I ended up going with Jeweler's Mutual. You can check them out at http://www.jewelersmutual.com Several people recommended them to me. Do remember that if you own your home you may already have coverage, or be able to add a policy rider to an existing policy that might be cheaper than an independent policy. As far as the pros and cons are concerned, I wanted the security of knowing the ring would be replaced if it was lost or stolen. That's another important thing to watch in the policies - most are replacement policies that will replace the ring with "like and kind" in the event of a loss. There usually isn't the option of getting a cash payout from these policies. Hope this helps. |
