Hey everyone,

This is my first post...but I've had fun reading what everyone has to say!!! Pricescope really is my favorite site now! :-)

My boyfriend and I have been looking at rings for a while, and I decided I definitely want a cushion, but now he is making me stay out of the process so he can surprise me with the final product! Probably micro-pave though, along the lines of the Michael B/Rina Limor/Vera Wang settings I saw posted in some other thread. But in my obsessive searching on pricescope for pictures of rings that look like what I hope mine will look like, I've noticed that a LOT of the people who have cushions have halos. While I think they look gorgeous, I am not going to have a halo, so I want to see all the other ideas people have for their cushions! I imagine mine will look something like anne_h's http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=34326
(which is good since I ADORE it), but I'd love to see some other cushion photos just to see what other people come up with! I just like looking at them and imagining them on my hand. :-)

Thanks!!!

Well, I have a cushion sans the halo, but it's a three stone and probably not what you're looking for...besides the fact that its still in it's temporary setting LOL.

This is one of my fav setting e/t I'm not big on pave/bead set/whatever stones...I do just love it. It's from Daniel K court. of Pearlmans!

Ratts, it won't attach...I"ll try again...not working...too large...check out the gallery and Pearlmans...it's the split shank...Daniel K and Harry Kotlar should give you even more ideas!

Here's similar setting if you want to buy the stone & setting sep. -- The first pix is Daniel K (from vendor Pearlmans) and they only sell it with the stones in it already I think ... The 2nd is Diamend Scassi (spelling??) ...

Well, this isn't pave, but Mark Morrell recently put it up on the site and I think it is a stunning setting for a cushion...it might even make me reconsider my halo!

Also, I can't post the pictures, but Icestore has some great cushion rings.

hahaha, that is so funny!!!! This first Daniel K split crown (is this the split crown or split shank? I preferred the split crown...) is the reason I first fell in love with cushions!!! I wasn't looking for one at all, (didn't even know what they were) but when I tried that on, I wanted it more than anything! Unfortunately, it was out of our price range, so my boyfriend is looking for something which captures the basic character of it, but from a designer that will let you buy your own stone (Daniel K only sells their settings with Daniel K stones). I'm also very very very picky about WHERE the split can occur on the band, so I didn't like any of the other split shank settings I saw, which is why he's probably going to go with something more like ceetee's. (Which I have grown to love just as much anyway, so no loss there!) But still, I certainly got a kick out of learning that that Daniel K setting inspires cushion-lust in people other than me!!

Also, thanks for all the quick replies!!! I wasn't sure how good of a reception I would get as a first time poster, so it was an extremely pleasant surprise to see that as soon as I got home from work I already had tons of posts waiting for me! You guys are the best!!! :-)

One more thing - I LOVE ALL THESE RINGS! I just realized I didn't properly note my appreciation for the other rings posted here. I would be more than happy with any one of them!! Wish me luck! I just cannot get enough of the cushion shape!!!

Speaking of settings...seeing the Daniel K again reminded me that I didn't even LIKE pave settings before that! So that ring singlehandedly made me want a completely different stone (I was thinking princess before but didn't like how they looked in person) AND a completely different setting! (thinking solitaire or maybe baguettes before)

How many of you had similar experiences? Did you end up liking basically the same type of ring you thought you would after you tried them on, or did actually seeing them on your hand change your opinion?

I was orginally looking for a princess cut too...then I wanted a cushion....then I saw "the" stone, and it was an oval!  Who would have thunk it   But, when you know, you know...it's just like falling in love

Hi, BBB...I didn't think you were still on the forum, but I've always admired your ring!

Soon, Unfortunately, I don't have a link on my oval

This is the only picture I have of it...I took it with my camera phone, so obviously, it doesn't do the stone justice.  It sparkles like crazy.... It's a 3c/G color.

Here's a picture of the setting we're going to replicate (which happens to be a cushion).  I'm goiing to have him make two micro pave bands to go on either side of the e-ring (so the rings stack), which is in not the picture.

marvel - that looks beautiful! I am so hopelessly in love with pave now. Is there nooo way you can take more pictures? :-)

bbb - I'd love more info for curiosity's sake, but since I'm not a part of the decision-making process anymore I don't technically need it! But I really do love that setting - who's it by?

It's bad that I discovered pricescope AFTER I told my boyfriend my guidelines! Or actually I suppose it's a good thing because now it's too late for me to change my mind after every single ring I see posted, hehe. I am officially not allowed to offer any more recommendations. I think this mayyyyyyyy mean that he has already bought/picked the setting and is just looking for the perfect stone now? I can't wait much longer!!!!!
