FI bought my diamond today and selected a setting! He told me they said it will be ready NEXT Thursday. How can I wait that long knowing that 1.4 carat E VS1 princess cut is calling my name??!??! HOW!??!??!? Do you think it would be at all possible that they could've set/sized it today and he's going to surprise me? I have a feeling even if that's not the case, it'll be done before next Thursday and he could surprise me this weekend. Is it possible it's ready for my finger now?!?!??

oh how exciting. I don't want to burst your bubble, but many times it's not the actually setting/sizing that takes time but getting worked into the schedule of people ahead of you. I also think princess cuts take a little longer to set b/c of the corners and the possibility of potential chipping

bf just bought mine saturday, and it's from christian bernard (which i know probably takes longer since they custom make their rings to each customer) but it's not going to be ready till first week in october.. so it's possible!

Oh man!!!! I was so looking forward to a surprise!!! TODAY!!! It's amazing how quickly your patience can dwindle when your diamond and setting have been purchased! He got a 3.6 mm platinum setting.

Congratulations!! I know how hard it is to wait. It can actually be quite torturous. I imagine Mrs. S is right about the goldsmith being busy. I don't think it actually takes that long to set and size (a few hours, I would think) if that was all he/she had to do. But there are probably other jobs waiting to be done. Or maybe your boyfriend is trying to throw you off. I hope so. We'll be anxiously awaiting pictures!!!
