Hi Everyone:

A few weeks back I posted about a Facets channel set eternity band to go with my lucida style 1 carat diamond.  See the link here: http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=31994&forumID=8&catID=&search=1&searchstring=

I received the Facets ring but did not love the look of the set together.  True to form, Facets/Signed Pieces accepted the return and credited my account in record time.

Then came the question of what to do for my set...    I've been married for 16 years and I thought hard about what I liked/disliked about my previous yellow gold set... I came to the conclusion that though I absolutely adore blingy wedding bands, I always had a plain wedding band waiting in the jewelry box for those times that I did not want to abuse my diamonds.  So, I decided to change my Lucida solitaire to a three stone (for that extra bling! ), and pair it with a comfort fit platinum band.    I've had the set for a few days now, and it feels great on the hand.  My 3 stone has a squared shank at the bottom and has not spun once - not even with wet hands.  Yes!!   And I personally have fallen in love with the look of the plain band with it - which I can wear solo when necessary.  It just fits my lifestyle.  I remember seeing a post a while back about 3 stones with plain bands... well, here's one for the record.

Stats:
1.08 carat, H, VS2 center stone with .31/each sidestones in size 7.  Sorry - no other specs!  Wedding band is 3.5mm platinum comfort fit in size 6 3/4.

I have a bunch of pictures I am going to post - but I have to do it one at a time.  I have no clue how to do a collage... sorry!

Here's #1

And finally - the last picture - a more realistic sized full hand shot.  Thanks for looking!

Hi Ame:  The sides are actually rounds but they are set kind of martini style, which gives the illusion of pears...

Just wanted to say that your set is honestly one of my favorites I've seen on Pricescope. It's funny to me because I'm an antique-look lover, halo-lover, non-three-stone-ring fan ... but yours is just pure classic beauty. Enjoy!

Thank you, Stretch, VuittonGal and Deco.  I am so honored by your comments.  I'm so happy with it after all the angsting.  Hooray!  It's amazing how my  pictures don't really capture the set too well.  Some of them came out so small, it's hard to make out the details.  Not sure what happened - especially as most of us seem to have a problem with the pictures being too big!  Oh well.

And Deco, I can't wait to see your masterpiece!  I think it's still in the works, correct!  The "closest sample" in your post looks fabulous...

Your set looks wonderful!

I love the width of the two bands.

Did you have Signed Pieces make your 3 stone for you?

Love your set...and the squared shank!

I recently ordered an upgrade ring from Whiteflash (biting my fingernails wating!) and I requested the square shank as well.  I have a problem with rings spinning.  Long skinny fingers and my "ring" finger is even skinnier under the knuckle!
from wearing a wedding ring for so many years.

I'm so glad to hear that yours is working out for you!  Is it really comfy?  I've only tried them on in the store, and it felt great, but that doesn't really mean much until you wear it everyday for a while!

I love your ring.  It's beautiful.  What was it about the wedding band that you didn't like???  WF has some awesome ones.  Good luck and we NEVER get bored of pictures here!!!!!

Your ring is just beautiful!  I love the martini setting for the sidestones--it makes the 3-stone ring look so organic.  And it looks lovely w/ the plain band!

Thanks to everyone for the nice words!!  Let's see if I can answer some questions:

Patty - Signed Pieces did not make the 3 stone.  I actually found it in a local jewelry store that I frequent.  It was just too perfect for me to pass up.  The wedding band, on the other hand, I purchased from Whiteflash and they shipped it to me the next day!!  A few other places I checked quoted me a couple of weeks!!  Now that's service.  Yes - the two rings are a bit chunky together, and some might say the band is too wide, but it works for me.

Tawn - the squared shank is extremely comfortable.  (Much more comfortable than sizing balls.) I don't notice a thing except that it NEVER spins...something that always happened with previous rings.  They have to be a bit big to accommodate my large nuckle.  I know the square shank doesn't work for everyone - and I didn't pick it because of the square shank - but it is certainly a BONUS for me!  Perhaps the 3 stones across the top balances the square shank below and keeps it stable on my hand??

Kaleigh - the channel eternity band was beautiful and extremely well made, and looked OK with my lucida style e-ring but I wasn't in love with the combination.  As I mentioned in my first post in this thread, there are many times that I don't wear my e-ring and I felt the daintiness of the channel set at .78 cts, and just over 2mm wide (which I purposely chose so as to not detract from the 1 ct center stone of my e-ring) was just too thin to wear alone on my somewhat manly-looking hands.  Again, I'm a size 7. So, I decided to try for something different.  Thank God these reputable vendors allow you to return items for full credit!

Again - thanks everyone.  I appreciate your comments!  Keep all your fabulous pictures coming!!!!!  I'm thoroughly addicted to PriceScope and can't seem to live without a daily dose of eye candy!!
