I was wondering if anyone has an opinion of whether it would be too much by pairing a mokume gane band with two colored stone eternity bands. I am not planning on getting an engagement ring, but I would like some gemstones to go along with my wedding band. I was thinking of having a tri-colored mokume gane band, with garnet or sapphire eternity bands, that matched the colores of the coled in the Mokume band. I'm finding that it is difficult to find pics/websites of colored stone eternity bands. Thanks for the help! |

i am a huge fan of mokume gane and an even bigger fan of orange garnets. i also tend to like the unusual and think that whatever i want to wear as an egagement ring and/or wedding band is what i will wear...even if someone else thinks it might be more appropriate as a RHR. i just want to let you know my mind set and prejudices before i say: I THINK IT WOULD BE GORGEOUS!. have you selected who you will be making your mokume gane? there are so many possibilities with mokume gane....and i like putting a warm color [orange garnet] with the cooler metal colors. i am also particularly fond of yellow/red/green gold combos. i think it will also depend on how wide a mokume band you select. but i think it would be stunning. you can also have small stones set into the mokume gane...... peace, movie zombie "I don't feel enjoyment watching films that evoke passivity. Yum! ![]() well, I know these are not rings, but the pieces show mokume with strypes of color allright: ![]() ![]() These pieces are signed by Steve Midgett. I could easily imagine the metal patterns paired with colored bands similar to the strands of gemstones used in them (square tsavorites and rubies). ![]() Ana "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." My husband wears a tri-gold mokume swirl, it's fairly subtle but I bet with some rubies or garnets, really any warm orangey reddish tone it would just look smashing!
