I don't watch a lot of network TV, and it takes a really good program to make a loyal viewer in me.  Last season there was one such show...Boston Legal!  I started watching it because it came on right after my hubby's favorite show, Desperate Housewives (I know, I know...lol).  Anyway, I quickly became totally hooked on Boston Legal.  It was replaced in the early spring by a mid season replacement, and I was in despair that ABC would not bring it back, even though the show got really really good ratings and the critics loved it.  But it's coming back, on Tuesday nights on ABC starting next week!  Yippee!!!  For those of you who haven't watched it, it stars William Shatner (who is a total HOOT), James Spader (who I love for his wry and acid wit) and Candace Bergen (need I say more?)  The other actors in the show are all terrific, too.    If you have nothing better to do on Tuesday nights, I highly suggest this show.  At the very least, TIVO it so you can't watch it at your convenience.  If you are like me, and have a very sarcastic and kind of off beat sense of humor, and enjoy humor mixed with drama, I think you will really like this show.  At the very least, it's an entertaining hour of TV with some attractive people to look at!

I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! I was hooked on the Practice where they first introduced James Spaders character, but Boston Legal is SO much better!

My fav quote... last year during the trail when the little guy killed his mom... DENNY CRANE, Tricks are for Kids.

I knew it was coming back, but not exactly when...I cant wait... thanks for the heads up!

Divine Design with Candice Olson on HGTV

I love the use of lighting in each and every room they redo!!!!

Of all the HGTV shows, I get the most motivation from hers.

I liked The Practice, and I LOVED James Spader on that.  I thought it was too bad that they waited until the show was dead in the water to bring him on!  I think that he and William Shatner did such a bang up job at the end, that they EARNED a new series!  I don't know if Boston Legal was already in the works or a result of the chemistry that they had on The Practice, but whatever...I'm just glad they got a show of their own out of it.  This show IS much better...I honestly laugh out loud a lot when I watching it.  I was often kind of bummed and depressed after episodes of The Practice.

I totally agree! I was actually able to get FI hooked on Boston Legal too. Normally he hates lawyer type shows, but like you said its just so funny he loves it.

...alright, I'm probably too old to watch this show, but I always make time for Gilmore Girls

The rest I don't sit and watch, it is more background noise while I"m doing other things so I'll flip usually between TLC (if is on what not to wear or moving up), Food Network, Travel Channel, a sitcom or any station that has Law & Order on it (NBC, USA or TNT). Oh, and Days of Our Lives & Oprah are guilty pleasures if I'm home during the day.

I'm wayyyy too old, but I love The Gilmore Girls, too (I even get my BF to watch!) I'm in love with Luke and I also got my Mom into the show so when something cools happens we call each other up to dish!

I like the new Scott Thompson gay wedding show "First Comes Love" , and also watch The Closer, The Inside,Law & Order SVU repeats and any true-crime show...BF & I joke that we now have so many "tips" on how to kill the other we should both be worried!

and when will Curb Your Enthusiasm be back? I miss Larry! and I also miss Arrested Development- can't wait to see it again.

OMG I LOVE GILMORE GIRLS!!!!  I've even gotten FI hooked on it - great dialogue - smart, clever, witty!!  Such a good show.

I also LOVE Boston Legal - the chemistry between Shatner & Spader is SUPERB.

hmm.. as a former LOYAL "The Practice" view, Boston Legal disgusts me. First of all.. David E Kelly is a retard for spinning off The Practice with entirely new characters.. and then calling it Boston Legal just so everyone knows its by him (from Boston Public..) And THE LAW FIRM.. don't even talk to me about it.. I'm just bitter.. EDIT- Oh yeah.. and  I FREAKING HATE JAMES SPADER.. and William Shatner is equally annoying.. and when did he get so FAT?

There is actually VERY little I will go out of my way to watch.
I love Law and Order, especially SVU.. but I mostly just watch the reruns, that are on USA and TNT ALL THE TIME.
I really Liked American Dreams, but that declined BADLY toward the end of last season..
I like Monk.. but there are not enough new episodes and I am rarely home at 10pm on a friday night to watch it.

I thought the plots of the practice were by far interesting than Boston Legal. I can still feel the chill thinking about how the story twists at the end.....

And James Spater... He had his way with words!!! Much charisma to my surprise.

The Practice was a good show, too, and I liked most of the actors on the show.  But that show was so HEAVY sometimes!  It often left me feeling kind of depressed...especially with the personal subplots involving the main characters.  The last couple of seasons, the show seemed to be running out of steam, I thought.  James Spader and William Shatner kind of re-energized the show at the end, and I thought let the show go out with more of a bang than a wimper.

As far as my viewing preferences...they have changed somewhat over the past handful of years.  With all the gloomy, depressing things that are happening in the world, I guess that on the fairly rare occasions that I DO watch TV, I'd like to watch something that is more or less entertaining and that can make me smile.  I think that most sitcoms are inane to the point of being retarded, so I don't really get into those anymore.  I do like British Comedy, it's much more clever and relies on wit and sarcasm as opposed to the slapstick and smut that I think the majority of American comedy feeds on.  But most of the BritComs that I can find are on the local PBS stations late at night, and I do watch when I can.  I think I like Boston Legal so much because I think it's well written, well acted, and it makes me laugh.  I always feel pretty good after I watch it.  Sometimes I don't want to have to think and reason when I watch TV, I just want to sit back and be entertained and enjoy myself.  If I want to think, reason, or learn something, I'll watch A&E, The History Channel, or the Discovery Channel.  I will admit to occasionally watching cartoons with my kids, and I enjoy the occasional show on Animal Planet...does that make me a shallow immature person?  LOL!

Boston Legal's funny. Being a lawyer, I'm picky and it's the only lawyer show I'll watch.

My fav show is Scrubs tho.
