I saw this last nite in US Weekly and then this AM on The Superficial and thought my fellow celebrity gossipmongers would get a giggle:

http://www.thesuperficial.com/archives/003228.html

In the upcoming issue of US Weekly, a source reveals that Paris Hilton has been complaining her engagement ring hurts her finger because it's too heavy.

“[Hilton] started complaining how heavy her 24-carat ring was and that her finger hurt.” US Weekly also reports that fiancé Paris Latsis, heir to a Greek shipping fortune, “got her a more manageable diamond-less platinum Cartier band for everyday wear.”

To be fair, 24-carats is a pretty ridiculous weight to be carrying around on your finger. Imagine, if you will, wearing a TV on your finger 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Now imagine that TV is made out of diamond and worth 100 gajillion dollars, and you'll have an idea of what Paris Hilton has to go through. Say what you will, but that girl is a hero.

This is why the girl should have used the tiny ounce of practicality buried in her and bought something more along the 5ct lines.

I would find any pain caused by the weight of a 24 carat ring quite enjoyable.

LMAO, did you see the thing on Tara Reid?! She is such a hoochie, not at all appealing. I keep telling my husband how awful I think she is, he's like "oh I think she's cute"

not me. i'd sell that thing and buy 5 more manageable sized rings, like 5-7c each.

Poor girl...the ring does weigh more than she does.

That being said, I'd gladly suffer the pain!

Irish I know, loved the pix of Tara's saggy butt, LOVELY! I totally agree with the whole 'get a skirt that at least covers your butt cheeks!!'

I told my girlfriend, it's pretty sad when you look like a wild thing next to PARIS HILTON who was the ultimate party girl...like in that pic where they are sitting together and Tara looks like she is going to pass out.

Tara Reid was cute before she became the party girl with the botched boob job. Her legs and butt  are definitely beginnng to show signs of aging! (Meeeaaaooooow....retracting claws now)

~~ I agree, Paris should have gotten a more practically sized e-ring for everyday wear. We all know that she has enough $$ to afford any diamond she wants. Now for Tara, I have no words...

so much for the ring....from hollywoodrag.com

Paris Hilton has auctioned off her close to $4.8 million engagement ring from her ex-fiance Paris Latsis for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, according to the Daily Star. The winning bidder got a bargain for the ring at less than half the price Latsis paid for it.

If that's true, it's proof that she has suffered brain damage from using cheap cosmetics.  (I would have bought the ring from him if I were her.)

I'm sorry, if Paris Hilton broke up with her fiance, she shouldn't have auctioned off that ring in the first place because it really wasn't hers to do so!  The appropriate thing was for her to return the ring, no ifs ands or buts.  Mrs. Hilton seems like a nice lady, but seems to have forgotten to teach her children some etiquette lessons along the way.

We don't know if she did and he refused. If she didn't want to keep it and she didn't feel right selling it for profit - this seems like an option.

24 carats, huh?  If that can't cure diamond shrinkage syndrome, I don't know what will.

Do we know that Paris Hilton's ex-fiance actually bought the ring for her or was it her millions that were spent?  I guess she's entittled to do with it whatever she wants if she bought it, but if he bought it then it should have been returned to him.

Tara Reid, hide that butt - it's not a pretty sight!!!  Quite disgusting really.

Mara I was giggling so much when I read your posts. Poor immature Paris – Vanity is no pain! I have this feeling that Paris probably perform and complain deliberately to get more attention. Can you imagine the day that there’s no article about her in a magazine or trash mag. It would be the end of her perfect world!

I remember reading (I think on people?) that she tried to return the ring, but he would have nothing of it.
Seeing as I'm sure she wouldn't wear the ring that "hurt so much" I think she did a very nice thing. For all we know, she could have consulted him and asked his opinion on the whole thing.

~~I read the same thing on People, I think he wouldn't take it back because he said that he still loved her and wanted her to have it...
