Hi everyone, been lurking for a while and doing my research. It seems that the more research I do the less confident I feel.... I plan to buy a diamond online within the next few weeks. Looking for princess 0.75 to 0.95 ct, F-H color, VS1-SI1 clarity, high-quality cut. After narrowing down my search I've come up with these four. Any opinions are appreciated! 1. http://www.goodoldgold.com/0_77ct_esi1_princess.htm 2. http://www.dirtcheapdiamonds.com/diamond_detail.cfm?did=8557568 3. http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1487514.htm 4. http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-1562955.htm Unfortunately the Whiteflash diamonds are missing some info like crown height, but I believe they will bring the diamond in from the supplied and use their Sarin machine. I plan to buy diamond online, get it shipped to Canada and design a custom setting with a local jeweller. Any thoughts/comments? Thanks! Mark |

The GOG stone is the only one with any information. I have never learned to make decisions from #'s only with princess. It has a great Ideal-scope (LS?) And very good light return from Gem Adviser But it has less contrast and scintillation because it has too many chevron facets - but then most do. Garry Holloway FGAA DipDT |

I bought my diamond (a RB, though) from Barry at Superbcert / Excel Diamonds and am very happy with it. I did a quick search, and he has these princess cuts in your specs: http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/197.html http://www.exceldiamonds.com/diamond/156.html

I definitely like the amount of info on the GOG site. Apparently Whiteflash will bring in the diamond and run it through their Sarin and IdealScope for you. Can you explain what you mean with the chevron facets? I've not heard that term before. Thanks, Mark

Any other comments on these stones? Has anyone here had GOG bring in a different stone for analysis? Just curious if this is a common thing for them to do. I asked them about this but haven't heard back yet. I'm hoping to make the purchase within the next few days... Mark
