I had my first two fittings last week while I was home for my bridal shower.

Oh, man... I almost freaked out. I've lost a fair amount of weight since I ordered my dress, but was shocked to find that it was WAY too tight for me when I tried it on. As in, as tight as the sample I'd tried on that was a few sizes smaller. Fortunately there was enough room in the dress to let it out sufficiently, but JEEZ! The only explanation was that maybe the person cutting and assembling this dress cut it a bit closer than the person who'd made the sample - from the sizing chart, it looked like this dress was going to be HUGE on me.

*sigh*

At least things worked out in the end.. I hope. ;)

oh rfath. I'm sure they can let the dress out!! They can work miracles as long as there is enough fabric.

I completely understand your vent tho...I'm almost dreading the day that I get the "gown's in" call. Will need to find some industrial strength pantyhose. lol.

Keep us posted!!

Not fun - sorry to hear this rfath. It could also be that the sample you tried on was really stretched out..? I'd like to think it's because I lost inches, but my dress got progressively larger (had to lace it tighter) every time I put it on as it stretched out and settled. Don't freak out! It's all taken care of!

And lovey - be careful about the pantyhose!! Beware the pantyhose!!

I have never trid them myself but Gwenth Paltrow said she uses something called Spanx. Someone asked her how she looked so good a week after having the baby and she said spanx of course. I am sorry your dress was tight...no fun there. When is your next fitting?

The only thing that freaks me out is the seamstress telling me that I cannot gain ANY weight since it's already taken out as far as possible now. The sample was brand new when I tried it on - they hadn't even had a chance to steam it after it'd been shipped to them. So.. it was weird. I'm trying not to be concerned, but I LIKE lifting weights and working out... now I'm going to be scared to do anything! ;)

Ah, well.. if this is the worst it gets... I'll be estatic.

Maybe you could just up the cardio and take the weight training down a bit. That really helped me.

Not sure yet when my next fitting will be, since I've been going back to Ohio to have it done...

more cardio! oh noooo.... ;) I wish it were less hot - it's so hard to run in this heat (my cardio workout of choice). But at least I get to run at the wedding site. Lots of trails around it, so I feel like the place is 'home' already.
