Hi,  all....A recent post by Fountainfairfax inspired me to shart this thread.

I would love to see some different mountings with bezel set  stones.  I'm currently considering  purchasing a cabochon gemstone and love some ideas on what to do with it if  I decide to take the plunge....

Thanks!!!

Widget-

Have you checked out the bezels at http://www.lindapenwardenjewellery.com/ ?

I wish there were more photos of each ring- I'm sure the photos don't do them justice at all!

What kind of cab stone are you "thinking" of getting set?

Being a Widget fan, you know I can't wait to see what you're thinking of!

This is funny !   I kept this post open for a bit and several other posts went on to mention Linda Penwarden's bezels as well. No woner though...

....and here's a vintage old cut stone by VCA:

You've just posted the nicest one, Widget !

Otherwise, any gipsy set ones with fluted bands, like these half bezels. If there was a full bezel at hand, I would have posted that instead - half bezels don't mean much to me - they seem to break the symmetry of the stone, IMO.

Is the cabochon a certain star ruby you mentione some time ago ?

I am sure you have passed before by Jewelryexpert... have you seen THIS ONE ?  I wish someone could adapt the shape of the platinum piece to stand alone without the gold band - I find that shape (a 45 degrees tilted square, or rhomb) very flattering on the hand. Kent Raible does some rings with this progfile, although aside the overall shape, they have little incommon with the gol and platinum ring mentioned.

This ring below (from R.W. Wise Goldsmiths) does not have a cabochon set, but is just asking for one in my opinion. And there are more designs you might find atractive on their site - allot of them I hadn't seen a while ago. If the ring will carry a star stone, a radial design like this would bring up its merits...

Fountainfairfax....Hyjacking?  Are you kidding?  I love seeing your pics!!  Please....more! more! more!

I can only hint about the stone I'm 'thinking' about...it has a star....

Fountain...my very favorite of your posts is the third one...sort of curvy and organic...is that one of Lindas?

And Valeria!  Ooh goodie!  Thanks for the contributions!

Yes, that third one is Linda's. It really is organic and "alive".

I think I have a lot more bezels on my work computer (my poor boss.) So I'll be posting more soon!
