Any opinions or advice on using Mark Morrell to design my wife's new diamond ring. I have the stone, now I just need the right designer.

He is an awesome designer.  There are many satisfied MM customers here and his rings are fabulous.  Do a search and you will find the posts referring to Mark Morrel.  He does take a while so you need to allow enought time for him to do your ring, but his work is a piece of art in my opinion!!!!  Good luck and please let us know how it works out for you!!!!!!

Dogslover4,

I think MM's work is fantastic, here is his website http://www.mwmjewelry.com/.  I had considered using him to design my gf's ring but it sounded like he was pretty booked up.  There are plenty of very good custom designers that can be found here on PS, just run a fews searches.

I decided to go with Phillip Schmidt (aka Platinumsmith - a regular here on PS) to custom design a platinum e-ring.  Check out his webiste, he does great work and I found his pricing to be very reasonable for a custom designed ring - hand wrought!

Although I haven't seen the ring yet, it was shipped today, the pictures he took look incredible.  Here is the link to them, there's no diamond in it yet as I bought that separately and should be set this week or next - http://www.platinumsmith.com.au/assorted/Recent_Works_5_5_assorted.htm.

Phillip was very helpful and courteous to me.  I sent him pics of rings that liked and described which features I liked about them.  After some discussion, he then built a mock up in silver for me of what he thought I was looking for my approval. It turned out beyond my greatest expections.  Overall, a great experience, thanks again Phillip.
