Does/has anyone heard of grams in selecting a diamond...a friend is going to Peru to get her diamond and wondered about that ....seems that the Peruvians grade their diamonds that way and she wondered what it is...

Grams is a weight measurement. It is related to carat weight in that 1 gram = 5 carats. Rich, GG Sarasota Gemological Laboratory Rich, Independent GG Appraiser |

There are 200 milligrams to a carat. 2 mg to a point. |
