and what are your colors??? I have a few colors in mind, one being blue, but not sure if I should do different shades of blue, or if I should throw in another color. I was thinking Copen and Peacock Blue, but kinda want like a pinky/lavendar color too, and maybe cream or something? But wasn't sure what would be good for an August, kinda late summer, North Carolina wedding. Any thoughts would be appreciated! I am not good at this stuff, not good for a future bride huh? ![]() ![]() The swatches are located here Thanks gals

Hi there!!! I was an August bride...last year. My colors were baby blue and white. Thought about bringing in another color, but it got really confusing. We ended up with the following in light blue...came out very tasteful and pretty I am told: ![]() Centerpieces: Hurricane vases with white pillar candle, natural colored sand, lt. blue sea glass and starfish and sanddollars. SO much cheaper than flowers (saved $40 per table!) and prettier than I could have imagined! Bridesmaids: Belsoie B2 (4406?) Lt. blue 2 piece with thin white ribbon bow at waist ($108 from RK Bridal) way more at local bridal shop! Flowergirls: floral cornflower blue dresses from Talbots Light blue crystals in my tiara (Winters & Rain Hyacinth) My bouquet was all white flowers with lights blue crystals in it Girls bouquets were white gerber daisies (cheap and pretty!) hand tied with lt. blue ribbon Bridal jewelry was made by my friend...light blue and clear crystal necklace and earrings I'll try to upload some photos for you in the next day or two...not so good at that stuff! Can you tell I'm trying to relive my wedding again through you!!!??? Feel free to share all the fun details!!! August 2006, not this August, right? ![]() Right now, I'm in the midst of thinking about all the fun things we did last year at this time, no doubt driving my hubby crazy...he's happy to just golf more this summer!!! We are planning an anniversary trip though...should help to keep me busy!!! ![]() kaarin

kaarin, i totally forgot you were an August bride!!! i even went back thru the old posts to check out everyone's bouquets and colors, and didn't come across yours (looking for that fab pic of you guys in Gloucester ) and you were even a blue August bride...so cool! cornflower blue was the other blue i was thinking of, so maybe i think more about having 2 blues and ivory (my dress is going to be light ivory) instead of the white. depending on where we have the reception, i will think about the candle idea (i think some places don't let you have candles/flame) so i will check it out. i thought of gerber daisies but my best friend is having them in her wedding in October, so i was going to pick a different main flower. and yes this is August 2006 my parents got married in August, so did my fiance's parents, and my grandparents, so i thought it was perfect, even though we may sweat to death

Another blue August bride We are going to do gerber daisies in the colors above (or as close as we can get) in simple glass vases for centerpieces and luminaries with scalloped edges and a ribbon tied in the middle in different sizes for light/candles on either side of the flowers. We are doing the lumiaries instead of buying glass hurricane lamps at $5 a pop and then not knowing what to do with them after the wedding. There will also be light blue tulle scalloped around the room. Favors will be cookies in the shape of an L (FIs last name) and each will be iced using a different color.

Hola! Fellow August bride, and my colors are pinks and oranges! It¡¦s a fun summery mix that kind of reminds me of sunset.
I haven¡¦t gotten flower girl dress yet! Groomsmen are wearing navy blazers, khaki pants and orange ties. Fiance is wearing a navy suit and a tie with orange palm trees on it.

thank you guys sooooo much! i am getting great ideas now, and will let you know if i borrow any ![]() i just have to get them down on paper... ok gals, another question...what time are your ceremonies and receptions? a large majority of our guests will be out-of-town guests, so i didn't want too much time in between...i was thinking a 3:30pm ceremony and 5:30 or 6pm reception, what do ya think?

KBerly- I think that is the perfect amount of time between the ceremony and dinner. Your guests will have time to mill around, freshen up if they want to, and discuss what a beautiful ceremony it was! Then eat. How great!
